Optika 120Cm 36W 3Cct LED Batten Ceiling Light

The Optika W120 is a 1.2-metre low-glare LED batten in black or white sand — 36 W giving 2,010 lm, switchable 2700 K / 3000 K / 4000 K, CRI above 93.

Low glare — what it buys you

An ordinary batten is a bare bright line on the ceiling: look up and you see the diodes. In a kitchen, an office or a workspace that is exactly what makes a room feel harsh, and it is what people are describing when they say fluorescent lighting is tiring. The Optika's shielded optic hides the source, so what you see is a lit surface, not a row of points. You notice it most where you look up, or work under it for hours.

CRI above 93 — unusually high for a batten

Battens go in the rooms where you most need to see what colour something is — a laundry sorting whites, a kitchen judging whether meat is cooked, a workshop matching paint or wire, a wardrobe. At CRI 80 all of those get harder. At 93 they do not, and almost nothing else in the batten category offers it.

Three colour temperatures, chosen on the fitting

2700 K, 3000 K, 4000 K, selected at installation. For a batten the useful setting is usually 4000 K — laundries, garages, workshops and offices — but the warm settings mean the same fitting can go in a pantry, a wardrobe or under a stair without feeling clinical.

1,200 by 100 mm, projecting 26 mm

1.2 metres long, 100 mm wide, and only 26 mm deep. That last figure is the point: it sits almost flush, so on a garage or laundry ceiling it reads as a line rather than a box. At 1.7 kg with a 900 mm cable, it goes up on a standard fixing.
