Onder solid brass tri-colour LED pond light

This is the Onder in solid brass and solid copper rather than stainless steel — the same submersible pond light, built from the metals that change as they age. Brass and copper underwater do not stay bright: they darken, then develop the brown-green patina that reads as an established water feature rather than a new installation. If a fitting that looks the same in ten years is what you want, the stainless version is the one; if you want the fitting to disappear into a mature pond, this is.

It carries an IP68 rating for continuous immersion and IK09 for impact — the highest impact rating in Havit's exterior range, which matters for something sitting on the floor of a pond where stones, tools and feet find it.

Light output and colour temperature

The fitting draws 5W and is tri-colour, with the colour temperature selected at installation rather than fixed at manufacture: 3000K, 4000K or 5500K, rated at 270lm, 285lm and 300lm respectively. Colour rendering is above 80 CRI and the beam is 120°.

Warm 3000K generally suits a brass fitting best, because it works with the metal rather than against it — cool white light on warm metal in dark water tends to make the fitting itself look wrong. Rated lamp expectancy is >30,000 hrs.

The globes are supplied, and they set the dimming answer

The Onder takes MR16 LED globes and Havit supplies them with the fitting. That also decides a question people ask later: Havit lists the fitting as not dimmable with the supplied globes. Do not specify it on a dimmed circuit expecting the supplied lamps to respond.

Because the globe is a replaceable MR16 rather than a sealed module, the light source can be changed over the life of the fitting without disturbing the brass body or its seal — which on a submerged fitting is the part you least want to touch.

Power and installation

The Onder runs on 12V DC and is a Class 3 low-voltage fitting, so no earth is required at the fitting itself. It does need a 12V driver on the run, and that driver is not part of this listing. Keeping the in-water wiring at low voltage is the reason a submersible light can be specified at all.

The body measures Ø93mm and stands 117mm tall. Position it before anything is fixed or backfilled — water moves light, and a fitting that looks right on a still surface can throw a shifting pattern once a pump is running. Installation is work for a licensed electrician.
