This is the 240 volt Ollo, in bare 316 stainless steel. It is the same recessed eyelid step light as its low-voltage twin HV19012T — same full 316 stainless body, which Havit describes as "316 Marine Grade", same tempered glass, same IP65 rating, same aperture set under an integral hood — but it is wired to mains rather than run off a driver, and it takes a GU10 globe instead of an MR16.
That distinction is the whole reason to choose it, and it changes the electrical work. Havit's specification gives this model's protection class as "(Requires Earth)", against "(Low Voltage)" for the low-voltage version, and its installation steps have you twist the earth conductors together first, then live, then neutral. There is no driver anywhere in the circuit. If you have an existing 240 V run and no low voltage supply, this is the version that suits; if you are building a low-voltage garden lighting circuit, the HV19012T is.
The globe comes out, which is unusual at this size and worth planning around. It ships with a tri-colour 5 W GU10 globe giving 270 / 285 / 300 lumens at 3000 K, 4000 K and 5500 K, and the colour temperature is selected on the globe itself: twist the cover off anti-clockwise, set the glass aside, pull the globe, move the switch on its side, and reinsert. It arrives preset to 3000 K, and because the switch sits on a removable globe rather than in the wiring, the choice is reversible at any time without touching a single joint.
Cutting in is the same as its low-voltage twin: Ø63 mm without a canister, Ø87 mm with one, and 125 mm of installation depth behind the face. That depth is the figure worth checking first, because it is discovered late and cannot be fixed afterwards. The canister has to finish level with the wall or Havit voids the warranty. Every join must be soldered and sealed in adhesive-lined heat shrink or a gel cap, with silicon around the edge of the fitting. Havit publishes no cable length, no IK rating and no glare figure for this mains model — those three sit on the low-voltage HV19012T's own data sheets and nowhere on this one, so this page does not carry them.
Because the stainless is bare rather than coated, this is the version with a maintenance schedule attached, and Havit publishes it specifically: maintain it every six months, or more often in coastal environments, to preserve appearance and warranty, using the HV9971 stainless kit. The instructions put the requirement more bluntly — "All 316 stainless steel fittings must have regular cleaning maintenance to avoid any tea staining", and "Warranty does not cover Tea Staining". Lights For You lists this mains Ollo beside the six low-voltage faces of the same body and the HV190-HC honeycomb lens Havit recommends for anti-glare.
No. This is the 240 V Ollo and it wires straight to mains — there is no driver in the circuit at all. That is the difference between it and its low-voltage twin HV19012T, which cannot be connected to mains under any circumstances. It also means the earthing matters: Havit gives this model's protection class as "(Requires Earth)" and its installation steps have you twist the earth conductors together first, before live and neutral. A licensed electrician must do the work.
A GU10, and it ships with a tri-colour 5 W GU10 giving 270 / 285 / 300 lumens at 3000 K / 4000 K / 5500 K. ⚠ Do not confuse it with the low-voltage version of this fitting, which takes an MR16 — the two are not interchangeable and the lampholder is the giveaway. When you replace it, align the two pins into the lampholder and push gently until firm, and do not exceed the maximum wattage marked on the product label.
Ø63 mm without a canister, Ø87 mm with a canister, and Havit specifies 125 mm of installation depth behind the face. The depth is the figure to confirm before anything is rendered or poured. The canister must finish level with the wall — Havit voids the warranty if it does not — so set it first and measure the canister you actually have rather than working back from the visible trim.
On the globe, and you can change it later. Twist the cover off anti-clockwise, set the cover and glass aside, pull the globe out, move the switch on the side of the globe to 3000 K, 4000 K or 5500 K, then reinsert and refit the glass and cover clockwise with the seals seated and the cover tight. It arrives preset to 3000 K. Nothing about the choice is permanent, because the switch is on a removable globe rather than in the wiring.
Havit publishes this specifically for the stainless Ollo: maintain it every six months, or more frequently in coastal environments, to preserve appearance and warranty, and it recommends the HV9971 stainless steel maintenance kit. The installation instructions are blunter — "All 316 stainless steel fittings must have regular cleaning maintenance to avoid any tea staining from forming on fitting", and "Warranty does not cover Tea Staining". Tea staining is a brown surface discolouration rather than corrosion of the steel, and washing the fitting down prevents it.
Not dimmable as supplied, and not in the ground. Havit's wording on dimming is precise about where the limit sits: "Dimmable No - Not with supplied globes" — it is the tri-colour globe in the box, not the fitting. No dimmable globe is published for this holder and we have not invented one. On siting, Havit's installation type for this fitting is "Wall - Recessed" and it publishes no inground rating for it; the step-or-inground Ollo is a separate model, HV19022T.
Narrower than a yes or no, so here is what the sources say. The salt-water clause in Havit's instructions for this fitting reads "Aluminium and 304SS fittings must not be installed within 5km of any salt water environments". This one is full 316 stainless steel, so the clause does not name it and we have not applied it. Havit also publishes no coastal approval for the model, so we are not claiming one — and its phrase "316 Marine Grade" describes the grade of the steel, not a siting approval. What Havit does say about coastal use is on maintenance: clean it more frequently than every six months in those environments to keep the warranty.
