Product Description
xThe Nella 12 W adjustable is a surface-mounted downlight — it fixes to the face of the ceiling with no cut-out, and the head aims. This listing is the 12 V DC version, and it is rated IP40, which makes it an indoor fitting.
IP40 means indoors
IP40 protects against solid objects but offers no protection against water. Do not specify it for an alfresco ceiling, a bathroom shower zone, or anywhere it can be rained on or hosed. Other fittings in the Nella surface-mounted family are IP54 and tolerate splashing; this one does not. A customer who assumes one family shares one rating gets this wrong.
This listing is 12V DC and requires a driver
Order codes HV5813T-BLK-12V and HV5813T-WHT-12V run on 12 V DC
only and require a 12 V DC LED driver rated for the whole run. They must never be
connected directly to 240 V. A 240 V version of the same fitting exists under its own
order codes.
Where it works
- Indoor living areas and bedrooms on a concrete ceiling where no cut-out is possible.
- Aimed at a bookcase, artwork or stair rather than straight down.
- Low-voltage runs from one central driver, no earth needed at each fitting.
- Not alfresco or bathroom wet zones — IP40 has no water rating.
Specifying it
The 12 W LED is built in — no globe, no socket. Tri-colour switching covers 3000 K, 4000 K and 5500 K, giving 960–1,080 lm across the three settings on a 60° beam. CRI is above 80 and the body is powder-coated aluminium in black or white.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You. Check the position against IP40 before ordering — of the Nella surface-mounted family, this is one of the fittings that cannot go outside.
Questions
Can I use it outdoors or in a bathroom?
No. It is IP40, which offers no water protection. Choose an IP54 fitting for splashing, and a properly rated fitting for a wet area.
Can I wire it to 240 V?
No. This is the 12 V DC version and requires a 12 V DC LED driver. A 240 V version is sold under its own order codes.
Does it need a cut-out?
No. It is surface mounted.
How bright is it?
960–1,080 lm across the three colour-temperature settings, on a 60° beam.
Is the head adjustable?
Yes, so the beam can be aimed rather than pointing straight down.
Is there a globe to replace?
No. The 12 W LED is built in.
What is the warranty?
Three years, as a replacement warranty.

Warranties, Return & Refund Policy
xWarranties
For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Credits will be issued in the form of store credit or gift voucher and will be equal to the price paid for the product minus the cost of shipping. Store credit vouchers are valid for six months from the date of issuance.
Our Rights
We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.
Cancellations
Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
