A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
The 12 W Nella in black, in both body depths. This is the size that does the ordinary work in a house — enough output to light a kitchen or a living room properly, small enough at Ø113 mm that a row of them still looks like trim rather than like plant. In black it becomes a graphic element on a light ceiling, which is either the point or the problem depending on the room.
Every Nella in this family is tri-colour: one fitting, three settings, selected by a slide switch inside the housing. It leaves the factory preset to 3000K, and that is the detail that catches people out — the switch is not reachable once the body is twisted onto its base plate, so a run of eight fittings needs all eight set on the bench before any of them go up. Mixed settings down one hallway are obvious and annoying to fix.
995 lm at 3000K, 1,125 lm at 4000K, 1,050 lm at 5500K. The peak is in the middle, so 4000K is the brightest of the three and the coolest setting is not. Colour rendering is CRI >80 — fine for general lighting, and worth knowing about if the room is one where colour accuracy matters. If it is, the round five-colour Nella (HV5848S and HV5849S) is a CRI >90 alternative, though it is a directly-wired fitting rather than an extra-low-voltage one, so it is not a drop-in swap on this circuit.
Both SKUs on this page are 12 V DC models fed from a constant-voltage LED driver and wired in parallel. Havit's instruction sheet states the boundary plainly: do not connect the light fitting directly to 240 V. Being extra-low voltage makes the fitting Protection Class 3 — no earth required at the fitting, and it also means Havit specifies it as not dimmable. Dimming has to be done at a driver built for it, if at all.
The standard body measures Ø113 × 75 mm and the extension body Ø113 × 142 mm; both fix to a Ø103 mm plate through three 4 × 10 mm slots and one Ø4 mm hole. It is IP54, IK07, semi-frosted glass, >30,000 hrs rated life, with 3 years replacement warranty, and Havit excludes aluminium fittings from sites within 5 km of salt water. Lights For You stocks the matching white version and the 7 W and 18 W bodies, so a scheme can step sizes without stepping ranges.
A slide switch inside the housing, preset to 3000K from the factory. It is not reachable once the body is twisted onto its base plate, so set every fitting on a run before installing any of them.
4000K at 1,125 lm, against 995 lm at 3000K and 1,050 lm at 5500K. Going to the coolest setting loses light on this model rather than gaining it.
For general lighting, yes — it is the normal standard for a downlight. For a kitchen where you judge food, a studio, or a wardrobe where you match clothes, a CRI >90 fitting is a real improvement.
Body depth: Ø113 × 75 mm standard, Ø113 × 142 mm with the extension. Identical light engine, output and beam.
12 V DC from a constant-voltage LED driver, with parallel wiring where several share one driver. It must never be taken straight off the house supply.
No — Protection Class 3. The directly-wired version of the same body is Class 1 and does need one.
Havit specifies the 12 V models as non-dimmable, so not at the fitting. A driver designed for dimming is the only route.
