Muovi Polycarbonate Round 195mm Bunker Light

This is the Muovi that gets specified when the 150 mm one has already been tried and is not enough. Same round shape, same polycarbonate construction, but 195 mm across and carrying a 12 W LED instead of 7 W — which is close to double the light, from a fitting only 45 mm wider. It is the size that works over a garage door, on a driveway wall, or at the head of a set of external stairs where a small bunker reads as a dim spot rather than a light source.

The output, and how to read it

The built-in LED gives 975 lm at 3000K, 1,070 lm at 4000K and 1,000 lm at 5500K. The middle figure is the brightest, which is characteristic of tri-colour LEDs and worth knowing before you assume the coolest setting will give you the most light — it will not. All three are in the one fitting and selected on a slide switch at the rear, preset to 3000K from the factory, so the choice is made during installation rather than at the checkout.

The beam is 120° through an opal polycarbonate diffuser. That is a deliberately wide, soft spread rather than a directed one: the fitting lights an area, and the diffuser is what keeps a 1,000-lumen source from being unpleasant to look at, with UGR under 29 and CRI above 80.

Construction and its limits

Body and diffuser are both polycarbonate — there is no aluminium and no 304 stainless in it to corrode or chalk. Impact resistance is IK04, which is ordinary-knock territory rather than vandal-resistant, so think twice about a public walkway. It is 240 V AC and Protection Class 2, double-insulated with no earth required, which simplifies a retrofit onto older wiring.

The one installation detail people miss

Havit is explicit that the supply cable cannot be joined inside the fitting. The connection is made outside it and sealed with adhesive-lined heat shrink or a gel cap, and failing to do that voids the warranty. After mounting, silicone around the edge stops water tracking behind the fitting. There is no globe and no driver — the LED is integral and the fitting is not dimmable.

Rated life is over 30,000 hours, black and white are the same price, and it carries a 3-year replacement warranty.
