Muovi Polycarbonate Round 150mm Bunker Light

The Muovi is Havit's plain, cheap, does-the-job bunker light, and this is the small round one: 150 mm across, 40 mm deep, in a body and diffuser both moulded from polycarbonate. It goes on walls and ceilings in the places nobody photographs — side passages, laundry doors, carport soffits, meter boxes, the back of a garage — and it is priced so that fitting six of them is not a decision anyone agonises over.

All plastic, and that is a specification not a compromise

There is no aluminium and no 304 stainless anywhere in it. The body is polycarbonate, the opal diffuser is polycarbonate, and the fixing is through holes at the edge of the rim. Polycarbonate does not pit, chalk or corrode the way a coated alloy does, which is why this shape has survived in Australian exteriors for decades. The trade-off is impact: Havit rates it IK04, which covers ordinary knocks and not a deliberate one, so it is not the fitting for a public stairwell.

What it puts out

A built-in 7 W LED gives 540 lm at 3000K, 610 lm at 4000K and 550 lm at 5500K. Those three are worth reading carefully — the neutral 4000K setting is the brightest of the three, not the coolest, which is normal for a tri-colour LED and the opposite of what most people assume. The colour is chosen on a slide switch at the back of the fitting, so it has to be set before the light goes on the wall. It arrives preset to 3000K. The beam is a wide 120° through the opal diffuser, which is what makes it a general area light rather than a directional one, and CRI is above 80 with UGR under 29.

Wiring it

It is 240 V AC and Protection Class 2, which means double-insulated and no earth required — useful on an old circuit where there is no earth at the point. One detail decides the install: the cable cannot be joined inside the fitting. Havit requires the connection to be made externally and sealed with adhesive-lined heat shrink or a gel cap, and skipping that voids the warranty. Silicone around the rim after mounting keeps water out of the cavity behind it.

There is no globe and no driver — the LED is integral, so nothing is bought alongside it and nothing is replaced later. It is not dimmable. Rated life is over 30,000 hours and the warranty is 3 years replacement, in black or white at the same price.
