The Mosari TL is a 372 mm table lamp in matt gold or black with an opal glass shade — one G9 globe to 6 W, not supplied, on 1.8 metres of flex.

It plugs into a power point. Our page said it “must be installed by a licensed electrician”. It has 1.8 metres of flex and is Class II double insulated. Fit a globe and plug it in. Removed.

The globe — and this page had it right

One G9 to 6 W, not supplied. G9 is a small bi-pin capsule, about the size of a thumbnail, which pushes in rather than screwing.

Worth a note: three of the four Mosari pages named the base “G6”, which does not exist. This one said G9, correctly.

  • Buy an LED, not a halogen. Halogen G9s get very hot inside an enclosed glass shade — and on a table lamp that is something you may actually touch.
  • Warm 2700 K — against matt gold, cool white reads green.
  • Rated for enclosed fittings.
  • A 6 W G9 LED gives roughly 500–600 lumens, which is a soft bedside or sideboard light, not a reading lamp. If you want to read by it, ask us — the Tarell gives 530 lm with a gesture switch and the Vybor takes a full-size E27.
Opal glass, at arm's reach

The shade diffuses completely, so the capsule is invisible and there is no glare — which on a lamp that sits at eye level on a bedside table is exactly what you want. It reads as a small glowing form rather than a light source, and that is the character of the whole range.

Our range copy calls it “clear opal glass”, which is contradictory. It is opal.

⚠ 1.07 kg on a 115 mm base, at 372 mm tall. That is a light lamp on a narrow base — the same proportion we flag on the Jacona and the Inwood — so it is easy to knock and easy to pull over by the flex. Keep it back from the edge of a narrow bedside table. If it is going somewhere with real traffic, ask us about a heavier lamp; the Vybor is 6.1 kg in travertine.

One thing in its favour: a G9 capsule weighs almost nothing, so unlike the E27 lamps in this catalogue there is no risk of a heavy glass globe raising the centre of gravity.

It dims, with the right globe. Our record says “No”; the datasheet and our page both say globe dependent, and they are right. On a plug-in lamp that means an inline or plug-in dimmer — and beside a bed, on a lamp this size, dimming is most of what makes it useful. Ask us and we will match the pair.

Part of a four-piece range

Mosari is made as this table lamp, a wall light, and two close-to-ceiling fittings, all in the same minimal metalwork and opal glass — the sentence saying so was cut off mid-word on every Mosari page. A bedroom can carry the wall lights either side of the bed and this on the chest of drawers, and the rest of the floor the CTCs.

Questions
Do I need an electrician?

No. It has 1.8 metres of flex and is double insulated — fit a globe and plug it in. Our page said otherwise, which was wrong.

What globe does it take?

One G9 capsule to 6 W, not supplied — and this page named the base correctly, where three of the four Mosari pages said the non-existent “G6”. Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
