The Module 16 G3 is a 60 mm twist-on LED downlight module — power-selectable 6 W or 10 W, 950 lm, switchable 2700 K / 3000 K / 4000 K, CRI above 92, TRIAC and C-Bus dimmable, IC-4.
950 lumens is the 10-watt figure, not the 6-watt one. Our specification table listed the wattage as 6 W directly beside 950 lm, which would be 158 lumens per watt — a figure no COB module holding CRI above 92 reaches. At 10 W it is 95 lm/W, which is exactly right for a high-CRI module. The switch selects between the two; set it to 6 W and you get proportionally less light.
This is the single most important fact about a recessed downlight in Australia and it was on the datasheet and nowhere else. IC-4 means the module is rated to be covered by ceiling insulation and abutted by it — so no clearance has to be cut around it, and the insulation stays continuous.
Why it matters: in a ceiling with bulk insulation, a downlight that is not IC-rated needs a gap maintained around it for the life of the building — a gap that gets closed by the next person who works up there. An IC-4 fitting removes that failure mode entirely, and it removes the thermal bridge the gap creates.
This is the reason to specify this module over a commodity downlight. CRI above 92, reaching 96 at the 3000 K setting, against the CRI 80 that most fittings in this catalogue record. The difference is visible on skin, timber, food and fabric: at CRI 80 reds go slightly grey and timber flattens; above 92 they do not. In a kitchen, a bathroom mirror or over a dining table, that is worth paying for.
It also explains the efficacy. 95 lm/W at CRI 92 is a better result than 120 lm/W at CRI 80, because high colour rendering is bought by giving up efficiency. This module gives up very little.
2700 K, 3000 K, 4000 K — selected at installation, so one product covers a whole house and the decision can be made in the room rather than at the order. 2700 K for bedrooms and living, 3000 K for most of a house and the setting that gives CRI 96, 4000 K for laundries, garages and task areas.
Our record said only “Dimmable: Yes”. The datasheet says TRIAC and C-Bus. TRIAC is the ordinary wall dimmer; C-Bus is Clipsal's building-control system, and on a job specified around C-Bus that compatibility is the whole reason a fitting gets chosen or rejected. It should not have been reduced to one word.
38° is a focused beam — good for a defined pool on a bench or a wall, tighter than the 60° most general downlights use. A 60° lens is available separately if you want a broader wash. Being able to change that after the ceiling is closed is unusual and useful.
Two things to confirm before ordering.
It is Class II — double insulated, no earth required, and carries a five-year warranty rather than the three years most of this range gets.
60 mm across, 55 mm deep, cable 900 mm, 0.26 kg, in aluminium. Cutout diameter is not recorded — ask us. Integrated COB LED, power-selectable 6 W or 10 W, 950 lm at 10 W, included, switchable 2700 K / 3000 K / 4000 K, CRI >92 (96 at 3000 K), 38° beam with a 60° lens available separately, dimmable — TRIAC and C-Bus. 240 V, Class II — double insulated, no earth required, IC-4 — may be covered and abutted by insulation, IP20. Warranty is five years, as a replacement warranty.

Either — it is power-selectable, switched at installation. The 950 lm figure is the 10 W setting: at 6 W that would be 158 lm/W, which no high-CRI module reaches. Set it to 6 W and you get proportionally less light.
It means the module can be covered by ceiling insulation and abutted by it — no clearance has to be cut around it. In a ceiling with bulk insulation, a non-IC fitting needs that gap maintained for the life of the building, and the gap gets closed by the next person who works up there. IC-4 removes the failure mode and the thermal bridge.
In a kitchen, at a bathroom mirror or over a dining table, yes. At CRI 80 — which most fittings here record — reds go slightly grey and timber flattens. Above 92 they do not, and this module reaches 96 at its 3000 K setting.
Yes — the datasheet records TRIAC and C-Bus dimming. Our record said only “Yes”, which on a job specified around C-Bus is the difference between a fitting being chosen and rejected.
Not recorded in any source. The module is 60 mm across and 55 mm deep with a 900 mm cable, but the cutout is not stated — ask us before anyone cuts a ceiling.
It twists into a matching frame rather than being a complete fitting. Check the frame you have or intend to buy takes it — our record does not list which frames it fits, so ask us.
38 degrees, which is focused — good for a defined pool on a bench or a wall. A 60-degree lens is available separately for a broader wash, and it can be changed after the ceiling is closed.
