The Mio PE80 is an 800 mm-wide pendant of hanging vegan leather strands in brown and black — 128 W giving 5,120 lm at 3000 K, CRI above 80 — and it is 1,840 mm tall.

It is 1.84 metres tall. Read that before anything else. The Mio is not a pendant you hang over a table in a normal room — from a 2.4 metre ceiling, the bottom of it would sit roughly half a metre off the floor. It is designed for a void, a stairwell, a double-height entry or a raked ceiling, and in those spaces it is spectacular. Anywhere else it will not physically work. This fact was at the bottom of a specification table.

Vegan leather strands — and the record said “iron”

The product is the material, and our data lost it. Strands of vegan leather drape from an iron canopy, and the light comes through and between them. That does three things a solid shade cannot:

  • The strands move — the fitting is never quite the same shape twice.
  • Light escapes between them in vertical slots, so it throws pattern rather than a disc.
  • The material is matte and warm, so the whole 1.84 metres reads as texture rather than as a lit object.
128 watts — a lot, for 5,120 lumens

40 lumens per watt, which is low, and the reason is the leather: most of the light is absorbed by the strands it passes through. That is the trade you are making. In exchange you get 5,120 lm, which is genuinely enough to light a stairwell or an entry on its own — more than almost anything else in this catalogue.

⚠ 128 W is a real electrical load and it is NOT dimmable. On a fitting this bright, in a void you look up into, on-or-off is a limitation worth thinking about before you commit. Ask us if you want a dimmable alternative at this scale.

800 mm wide, on an 800 mm canopy

The canopy is as wide as the fitting — 800 mm, with a 35 mm projection — which is unusual and matters at install: it needs 800 mm of flat ceiling and a fixing spread across it, not a single point.

⚠ No weight is recorded anywhere. This is 1.84 metres of iron and leather suspended from one canopy, and the figure an engineer or electrician needs is not in any source. Ask us before the fixing is designed — on a fitting this size it is not a detail.

How tall is it?

1,840 mm — 1.84 metres. From a 2.4 metre ceiling the bottom would sit roughly half a metre off the floor, so it is not a pendant for a normal room. It is designed for a void, a stairwell, a double-height entry or a raked ceiling.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
