Find the right globe for this fitting
Product Description
xThe Minra TL is a 395 mm table lamp with a cast stone base and a soft fabric shade in warm beige — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied.
Cast stone, which the record had dropped
Our listing said “Fabric” and nothing more. The base is cast stone — a heavy, faintly granular material that reads as quarried rather than moulded, and the reason the lamp looks calm rather than cheap. It is the same loss we found on the Celsus, on the same material, which suggests cast stone is being dropped systematically rather than by accident.
Narrow, and that is what distinguishes it
395 mm tall and only 150 mm wide on a 115 mm base, at 1.8 kg. Worth comparing to the Celsus TLS, which is the same height in the same materials but 250 mm wide on a 130 mm base at 3.3 kg. So:
- Minra — the slim one. For a narrow bedside table or a shallow shelf where a wide shade would overhang.
- Celsus — the broad one. More light spread, and nearly twice the weight.
You almost certainly do not need an electrician. It is Class II — double insulated — on an 1,800 mm cable. The old page carried an electrician requirement that belongs to hard-wired fittings.
Beige on beige
Warm beige through the stone and the shade both — there is no contrast in this lamp, and that is the design. It disappears into a neutral room and does its work as light rather than as an object. If you want a lamp to look at, this is not it; if you want one that stops competing with everything else on the table, it is.
Dimming depends on the globe
Fit a dimmable E27 and use a plug-in or inline dimmer and it dims; a plain globe will not. Our record says “No”, which is misleading — the correct answer is globe dependent.
Where it works
- Narrow bedside tables and shallow shelves.
- Reading corners and sideboards.
- Neutral rooms, where a quiet lamp is the point.
- ⚠ Indoor and dry locations only — IP20.
Specifying it

Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.

Questions
What is the base made of?
Cast stone, with a fabric shade. Our record listed “Fabric” alone and had dropped the stone — the same loss we found on the Celsus, on the same material.
How does it compare to the Celsus?
Same height and the same materials, but the Minra is the slim one — 150 mm wide on a 115 mm base at 1.8 kg, against the Celsus at 250 mm wide on a 130 mm base at 3.3 kg. Minra for a narrow table, Celsus for more spread and weight.
Do I need an electrician?
It is double insulated with an 1,800 mm cable, so almost certainly not. The old page carried an electrician requirement that belongs to hard-wired fittings.
Can I dim it?
It depends on the globe. A dimmable E27 with a plug-in or inline dimmer will dim; a plain globe will not. Our record says “No”, which is misleading.
Is a globe included?
No. One E27 to 25 W, your choice.
Is it heavy enough to stay put?
1.8 kg on a 115 mm base — solid for its size because of the stone, though the broader Celsus is nearly twice as heavy if stability is your main concern.
What colour is it?
Warm beige through the stone and the shade both. There is no contrast in this lamp, which is the design — it disappears into a neutral room and does its work as light rather than as an object.
