A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
This is the bare 316 stainless steel Mini Ollo. Where the other two faces in the range put a coating or a different metal over the stainless body, this fitting is stainless the whole way through — Havit describes it simply as "Full 316 Stainless Steel". It is Havit's smallest recessed eyelid step light: the aperture sits under an integral hood rather than flush, so the lit face is set back inside the trim. Built-in 1 W LED, 30° beam, tempered glass lens, IP67, and an IK10 impact rating.
Because the stainless is exposed rather than coated, this is the version with a real maintenance schedule attached, and Havit publishes it in two places. The installation instructions require that "All 316 stainless steel fittings must have regular cleaning maintenance to avoid any tea staining from forming on fitting", and add that "Warranty does not cover Tea Staining". Havit's own page for this SKU is more specific still: maintain it every six months, or more often in coastal environments, to preserve appearance and warranty, and it recommends the HV9971 stainless steel maintenance kit for the job. Tea staining is a surface discolouration, not corrosion of the metal, and it is entirely preventable — but it is not a warranty claim, so the cleaning is on you.
The cut-out comes in two sizes and Havit publishes both: Ø38 mm without a canister and Ø46 mm with one. Into concrete or masonry the canister goes in first and finishes flush with the wall; in a timber riser or stud wall you generally will not need one. Work to the figure that matches your method, and to the canister you actually have, rather than to the visible trim.
It is a 12 V DC constant-voltage fitting and needs a driver — Havit's instructions say "DO NOT CONNECT LIGHT FITTING DIRECTLY TO 240V" in capitals — and there is a limit that governs how you lay a run out: the fitting cannot be more than 25 m from its driver or the warranty is void. Fittings wire in parallel. Protection Class 3, so no earth is required.
Colour temperature is chosen by the wiring, at the time of install. The neutral tails are marked: connect the 3000 K tail or the 5500 K tail, or join both for 4000 K, and terminate the unused tail so the fitting stays IP rated. Once the joins are soldered and sealed the setting is permanent — no switch, no remote — so agree it across the whole run first.
There is no globe and no socket, because the LED is built in; nothing is replaceable and nothing needs specifying. Every join has to be soldered and sealed in adhesive-lined heat shrink or a gel cap or the warranty is void, and silicon goes round the edge of the fitting to keep water out. Lights For You keeps the 316 stainless Mini Ollo in stock next to the copper and powder-coated black faces of the same body, which is useful when a job needs matching apertures but different finishes on different elevations.
Havit sets this out specifically for this SKU: maintain it every six months, or more frequently in coastal environments, to preserve appearance and warranty, and it recommends the HV9971 stainless steel maintenance kit. The installation instructions put the requirement more bluntly — "All 316 stainless steel fittings must have regular cleaning maintenance to avoid any tea staining from forming on fitting", and "Warranty does not cover Tea Staining". Tea staining is a brown surface discolouration rather than corrosion of the steel itself, and washing the fitting down prevents it.
Havit publishes two apertures and they are not interchangeable: Ø38 mm without a canister and Ø46 mm with a canister. The canister is the sleeve you set into concrete or masonry so the fitting drops into a finished hole; going into timber or a stud wall you usually will not use one. The trim overlaps the aperture either way, so measure the fitting or canister you have in hand rather than working back from the face.
No. It runs on 12 V DC constant voltage from a suitable 12 V DC constant-voltage LED driver, and Havit's instructions say so in capitals: "DO NOT CONNECT LIGHT FITTING DIRECTLY TO 240V". The same instructions set a distance limit that is just as binding — no more than 25 m from the fitting to its driver, or the warranty is void. It is Protection Class 3, low voltage, and requires no earth. Installation is a licensed electrician's job.
By the marked neutral tail you connect at install. The 3000 K tail gives warm white, the 5500 K tail gives cool white, and joining both tails together gives 4000 K. Terminate whichever tail you did not use so the fitting stays IP rated. The choice is permanent once the joins are soldered and sealed, since there is no switch and no remote on this model — so decide it for the entire run before anything is wired in.
No. Both Havit sheets give the installation type as "Wall - Recessed" and Havit's own page lists it as a recessed wall or step light. Nothing published for this model covers foot traffic, vehicle loads or paving where water collects. Havit does build a Mini Ollo for that duty, but it is a separate model — HV2892T, listed as a step or inground light — so use that one if the fitting has to go into the ground.
The honest answer is narrower than yes or no, so here is what the sources actually say. The salt-water clause in Havit's instructions for this fitting reads "Aluminium and 304SS fittings must not be installed within 5km of any salt water environments". This one is full 316 stainless steel, so that clause does not name it and we have not applied it here. Havit also publishes no coastal approval for the model, so we are not claiming one. What Havit does say about coastal use is on maintenance: clean it more frequently than every six months in those environments to keep the warranty.
Havit lists it as dimmable in all three of its own sources — the data sheet, the installation instructions and the product page. None of them publishes a dimming protocol, a compatible dimmer or a driver recommendation, so we have not invented one. The fitting takes 12 V DC constant voltage and carries no control gear of its own, which means any dimming is done on the supply side by the driver and its control. Check the dimming specification of the driver you plan to use.
