Masya Pendant Light

The Masya PE is a 310 mm perforated metal pendant in antique brass, hung from a chain — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied, on a 2,000 mm suspension.

The perforations are the product

The shade is cut through with a pattern, and that changes what the fitting does entirely. A solid shade directs light; a perforated one throws the pattern onto the walls and ceiling around it. Lit at night the Masya projects a field of shaped shadows across a room, so the light itself becomes the decoration rather than the object hanging from the ceiling. In a hallway or a stairwell, where you look at the walls as much as the fitting, that is a genuinely different result.

A chain, not a rod or a cord

Worth noting because it affects the look and the install. A chain suspension reads as vintage and industrial where a cord reads as modern and a rod as architectural — and it hangs plumb under its own weight rather than needing to be straightened. At 1.9 kg over 2,000 mm, adjustable at install, on a 120 mm canopy.

310 by 450 mm — taller than it is wide

An upright proportion, which suits a chain: the eye follows the line down. At 310 mm across it is not a dining-table pendant — it is a hallway, stairwell or corner fitting, or one of a pair flanking something.

310 mm wide by 450 mm high, canopy 120 mm with a 25 mm projection, chain suspension 2,000 mm and adjustable, 1.9 kg, in perforated iron, antique finish. One E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied; dimming is globe dependent. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
