The Marques EX is a 430 mm exterior coach light in black sand with textured glass — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied — IP43.
IP43, not IP44 — and the difference is real. IP44 is rated against splashing water from any direction. IP43 is rated only against spraying water up to 60° from vertical — water coming downward, not sideways. In practice: under a porch roof or a deep eave, yes; an exposed wall that takes wind-driven rain from the side, no. It is one digit, and on a coach light — which people naturally hang beside a front door, often unsheltered — it is worth reading twice.
The coach lantern is a tall tapered form with glass on several faces, and it lights outward in every direction rather than down at the ground. Beside a door that is the traditional and still the best answer: you see the doorway, the step and the person standing there, not a pool at your feet. At 430 mm tall by 180 mm wide, projecting 220 mm, it is a substantial fitting and needs a wall with room around it.
Textured glass refracts rather than diffusing, breaking the light into bright and shadowed facets and showing the globe inside it. That makes the globe choice part of the fitting rather than a detail.
Choose the globe carefully — it is not supplied. Two things matter on an exterior fitting. Use an LED, not a filament: a 25 W incandescent inside a sealed lantern runs hot, and heat is what kills exterior fittings. And check the globe is rated for enclosed fittings — many LED globes are rated for open fittings only, and it is printed on the box. A decorative LED filament rated for enclosed use is the right answer through textured glass. Ask us and we will match one.
Nearly every outdoor light in this range has a sealed integrated LED: when it fails, the fitting is finished. The Marques takes a standard E27, so you choose the colour and output and you can replace it in ten years. On a coach light that will sit beside a door for a decade, that is a real advantage.
Sand-textured rather than gloss, which outdoors matters: gloss shows salt, dust and water marks, and a textured coat does not. At 1.94 kg on a 110 mm canopy it needs a proper wall fixing rather than a plug in render.
It is Class I — earth required and hard-wired. A licensed electrician installs it — genuinely, on this page. Dimming is globe dependent: a dimmable LED globe with a wall dimmer will dim it. Our record carries no value at all against dimmable.
430 mm high by 180 mm wide, projection 220 mm, canopy 110 mm, 1.94 kg, in aluminium and textured glass, black sand. One E27 globe to 25 W, NOT supplied; dimming is globe dependent. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP43 — rated against DOWNWARD spray only; covered positions. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Yes, and it matters here. IP44 is rated against splashing water from any direction; IP43 only against spraying water up to 60 degrees from vertical — downward, not sideways. Under a porch roof or a deep eave, fine. An exposed wall taking wind-driven rain from the side, no.
No — one E27 to 25 W, your choice. That is unusual for an exterior fitting here and it is an advantage: nearly every other outdoor light in this range has a sealed integrated LED, and when it fails the fitting is finished.
An LED rated for enclosed fittings. A 25 W incandescent inside a sealed lantern runs hot, and heat is what kills exterior fittings — and many LED globes are rated for open fittings only, which is printed on the box. A decorative LED filament rated for enclosed use is right through textured glass. Ask us and we will match one.
Outward in every direction, because a coach lantern has glass on several faces. Beside a door that means you see the doorway, the step and the person standing there, rather than a pool at your feet.

Yes — textured glass refracts rather than diffusing, breaking the light into facets and showing the globe. That makes the globe choice part of the design.
It depends on the globe. A dimmable LED globe with a wall dimmer will dim it. Our record carries no value at all against dimmable.
