Maro up and down LED wall light — four emitters

The Maro is a very small up/down wall light — 88.5mm tall and 20mm wide — carrying four 1W emitters, two facing up and two facing down. It is sold in black and white, in both 240V mains and 12V low-voltage versions.

Its size is the point. Most up/down wall lights are objects on a wall; the Maro is closer to a detail. On a narrow pier, a door reveal, a fence post or a run of columns where a conventional fitting would be too big, it produces the same pair of cones at a scale that does not dominate the surface.

Four emitters, 4W total

The fitting carries four 1W emitters, so it draws 4W in total. Havit rates the output as two at 85lm and two at 90lm across the colour settings, giving a total of 170lm at 3000K and 180lm at the 4000K and 5500K settings.

Each emitter throws a 60° beam. Four tight beams rather than two wide ones is what gives this fitting its character: instead of a soft wash, it puts distinct narrow cones on the wall above and below, which reads as deliberate on a smooth surface and picks out texture sharply on a rough one.

Colour temperature

The Maro is tri-colour, with 3000K, 4000K or 5500K selected on the fitting at installation rather than fixed at manufacture. Colour rendering is above 80 CRI. The fitting is not dimmable.

On a run of several fittings, set every one at the same time. Because the selection is made per fitting, a single unit left on a different setting is immediately visible in a row — and on a fitting this small, getting back into it after installation is fiddly.

Mains or low voltage — four part numbers

This listing carries four SKUs. HV3695T-BLK-240V and HV3695T-WHT-240V run directly on 240V AC mains, need no driver, and are Class 1 so they require an earth. HV3695T-BLK-12V and HV3695T-WHT-12V run on 12V DC, are Class 3 so no earth is needed at the fitting, and do require a 12V driver on the circuit which is not supplied.

Given how small this fitting is, it is often installed in numbers — along a fence, up a stair, across a facade. In that case the 12V version usually makes more sense, because one driver serves the whole run. Check the driver capacity against the total load before ordering.

Rating and installation

The Maro is rated IP54 for dust and splashing water and IK08 for impact. IP54 is a sheltered-exterior rating, so it suits a wall under an eave, a covered entry or a protected facade rather than one taking driven rain head on. Havit states that aluminium and 304 stainless fittings must not be installed within 5km of any salt water environment. Installation is work for a licensed electrician.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations
