Product Description
xThe Malvern PE08 is a 1,020 mm eight-light pendant in antique silver, in iron, crystal and fabric — eight E14 globes to 25 W each, not supplied, at 540 mm high and 5.8 kg.
⚠ It is a metre across and weighs 5.8 kilograms, on a 130 mm canopy. Neither figure appeared on our page — the weight sat in a datasheet field and the diameter was buried in the specification table.
- 1,020 mm is wider than almost anything in this catalogue. It needs a long dining table, a grand entry or a genuinely large room; in an ordinary dining room it will overwhelm.
- 5.8 kg on a 130 mm canopy is a structural fixing, not a hook. It is well past a ceiling rose or a plasterboard anchor, and your electrician needs the figure before the ceiling is opened. On a joisted ceiling it may need a noggin.
⚠ A correction to our own page: it is not available in brushed nickel or matte black. The description said “available in finishes like brushed nickel and matte black”. It is stocked in antique silver only. If you want one of the others, ask us and we will find out whether it can be ordered.
Crystal, fabric and iron — an unusual combination
Most crystal fittings in this catalogue pair crystal with metal alone. The Malvern adds fabric, and that changes what it does:
- The fabric diffuses. Where a bare crystal fitting throws hard points of refracted light across a room, fabric gives a soft base glow underneath — so you get both: a comfortable overall light and sparkle on top of it.
- It softens the eight sources. Eight exposed E14s at a metre across would be a great deal of glare; behind fabric they become a broad warm surface.
- It suits a dining table better than pure crystal. You can sit under it for an evening without squinting, which is not true of every crystal fitting here.
Antique silver sits between the bright chrome and warm gold of the other crystal ranges — a softened, slightly aged metal that reads traditional rather than glamorous, and works with grey, taupe and muted palettes where polished chrome would look hard.
Eight globes, 200 watts of capacity
Eight E14 to 25 W each — 200 W total, not supplied. E14 is the small screw base, SES. (Our record held 25 W against the whole fitting, which is the per-globe figure.)
With LED candles at 4 to 6 W the real draw is around 40 W — a fifth of the rating. That matters here: eight incandescent globes would put 200 watts of heat into a fabric-shaded fitting.
Because the fabric hides the globes, brightness and warmth are the only decisions and the eight need not match visually — which on an eight-globe fitting saves real trouble. Use warm 2700 K: against antique silver, cool white makes an already-cool metal look grey and dead.
It dims, with the right globes. Our record says “No”; the datasheet says globe dependent, and it is right — nothing in a fitting holding eight E14s prevents it. On a crystal-and-fabric fitting dimming does something particular: the fabric glow fades first, and what is left is the crystal sparkle against a dark room. ⚠ Eight LEDs on one dimmer wants a matched set — ask us.
⚠ One correction to our own data: our record flags the Malvern as a colour-changing fitting. It cannot be — it holds eight screw-in E14 globes and contains no integrated LED, no driver and no control of any kind.

How big and how heavy is it?

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.
