Lyndra Floor Lamp

The Lyndra is a 1,500 mm floor lamp pairing an iron frame in a patina finish with a woven natural-fibre shade — in bronze with natural, or gun metal with black.

Natural fibre, which our record does not mention

The shade is woven natural fibre, not fabric or metal — and our product record lists the material simply as “iron”. That matters, because the weave is the whole reason to choose it: light escapes between the strands as well as through the openings, so the lamp throws texture onto the wall behind it rather than a plain pool. A fabric shade of the same size glows; this one patterns.

A patina finish, which is unusual here

Not matte, not gloss, not sand — patina. It is a finish with visible variation and depth, made to look aged rather than new, and it is what stops the iron frame reading as raw industrial metal under a natural shade. Almost nothing else in this catalogue uses it.

Two colourways, two quite different lamps

• Bronze with a natural shade — warm metal under pale fibre. The traditional, softer pairing, and the one where the woven texture shows most.
• Gun metal with a black shade — dark on dark. The weave becomes a silhouette rather than a glow, and the lamp reads as contemporary and graphic.

It takes up 320 by 250 millimetres of floor

Worth measuring: the footprint is 320 × 250 mm with a 250 × 280 mm shade at the top, on a 200 × 250 mm canopy. At 4.4 kg it is properly stable, but it is not a lamp that tucks into a narrow gap beside a sofa.

Plug in and use it

Class II, double insulated, no earth required, on a 2,000 mm cable. ⚠ The old page said an electrician was required; that is boilerplate from a hard-wired fitting.

One E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied

A clear globe gives the sharpest texture through the weave; a frosted one softens it. That choice genuinely changes the effect, so it is worth thinking about. Dimming is globe dependent — our record says it does not dim, and the record is wrong.

It does not change colour

Our record carries a colour-changing flag. It takes one ordinary screw globe and has no colour control of any kind.
