LUC LED Spike Spot Light 3w/5w/8w 8v~26v

The Luc is a low-voltage LED garden spike spotlight, sold in three outputs — 3 W, 5 W and 8 W — with the LED built in. It is a plant and feature uplight: pushed into a bed, aimed at a trunk, a wall or a sculpture.

The three wattages are three different tools

They are not just brighter versions of each other — the beam changes too. 3 W gives 280 lm on a 45° beam, the widest, for a shrub or a low wall close up. 5 W gives 450 lm on a narrow 25° beam, which is the one for throwing light up a tall trunk without spilling it across the garden. 8 W gives 700 lm on 36°, a compromise for larger canopies. Choose by beam first and brightness second; a wide beam on a tall tree wastes most of its light in the air.

Built for the ground

Rated IP65 — dust-tight and protected against water jets — which is what a fitting sitting in a garden bed needs, since it will be rained on, watered and splashed with soil. The LED is built in and not replaceable, so there is no globe to fail and no seal to break by changing one.

Where it works

• Uplighting trees and palms, using the 5 W narrow beam on tall trunks.
• Grazing a feature wall or fence from a bed at its base.
• Lighting shrubs and low planting with the wide 3 W beam.
• Runs of several fittings from one low-voltage driver, with no earth needed at each.

Specifying it

All three are 3000 K warm white, CRI above 84, power factor above 0.9, and not dimmable. Diameters and heights rise with output: ø52 mm × 255 mm at 3 W, ø62 mm × 260 mm at 5 W, and ø73 mm × 265 mm at 8 W. Black finish. Warranty is two years, not the three years most of the range carries.

Supplied and supported by Lights For You. Plan the run and the driver together, and allow spare capacity — garden lighting almost always grows by a fitting or two after the first night you see it working.
