This is the flexible-arm member of the Lesen range: the same 3 W built-in LED and the same clear polycarbonate lens as the fixed-head version, carried on a bendable aluminium arm instead of a tilt-and-swivel knuckle. The arm holds whatever shape it is put into, so the light can be pulled forward over a book, pushed back against the wall when it is not wanted, and moved again a week later without tools.
An adjustable head aims light from a fixed point. An arm moves the light source itself, which is the difference between lighting a headboard and lighting the page someone is actually reading. That makes this the one to specify beside a bed, a reading chair or a desk, and the fixed-head version the one to specify where the fitting should sit tight and tidy against the wall.
There is no wall dimmer and no dimming module in the switchboard. A touch switch on the fitting does all of it: one press for on and off, two quick presses to step the colour temperature between 3000K, 4000K and 5500K, and hold to dim. So the colour temperature is not locked in on installation day the way most tri-colour fittings are — it can be changed whenever someone feels like it. Equally important at quoting time: this is not a Triac fitting, and a leading- or trailing-edge wall dimmer will not control it.
140 lm at 3000K, 160 lm at 4000K, 150 lm at 5500K. Output peaks in the middle rather than at the coolest setting, so the common assumption that cooler means brighter is wrong here. The three are within about 14% of one another, which makes the choice a question of how the light should feel rather than how much of it there is. The optic is 30° — a tight pool for putting light on something specific, which is what an arm-mounted fitting is usually asked to do.
IP20: indoor, dry locations only. Not a bathroom zone, not an alfresco or covered patio, and nowhere that can take driving rain or hose spray. If weather can reach the position, this is the wrong fitting and a weather-rated one is what the job needs. The body is aluminium, poly powder coated black or white, IK06, with a CRI above 80.
It is a Class 1 fitting and requires an earth, running on 240 V AC with no driver or transformer. A licensed electrician installs it under AS/NZS 3000, connecting the earth first. The install sheet carries one warning worth passing on: when positioning the fitting, stop as soon as it reaches its stop. Forcing it further keeps the body turning, tangles the internal cable and shorts the fitting, and Havit treats that as a voided warranty — as it does any modification to the fitting.
The head is Ø35 mm. The remaining dimensions appear on the data sheet as an unlabelled drawing rather than a table, so check that drawing against the position before ordering — with an arm-mounted light, how far it reaches and how far it projects are the measurements that decide whether it works where it is going.
Black (HV3687T-BLK) and white (HV3687T-WHT) are identical in output and price, so the decision is only how the arm should read against the wall behind it. Both are covered by a three-year replacement warranty.
If you are weighing this against the fixed-head Lesen, talk to the team at Lights For You — the answer usually comes down to whether the light needs to travel to the task or simply point at it.
This one carries the light on a bendable arm; the standard version has a fixed body with a tilting, swivelling head. The lamp, the output, the voltage and the controls are identical. Choose the arm when the light needs to move to the task, and the fixed head when it should sit tight against the wall.
No, and one will not work. Dimming is done by holding the touch switch on the fitting itself. It is not a Triac fitting, so a leading- or trailing-edge dimmer on the wall has no effect on it.
Yes. Two quick presses of the switch on the fitting step it between 3000K, 4000K and 5500K, at any time. Most tri-colour fittings are set once on installation day; this one is not.
No to both. The LED is built in and not replaceable, and the fitting runs directly on 240 V mains, so there is nothing further to buy and nothing to re-lamp later.
No. It is IP20, which means indoor dry locations only. For a bathroom zone, an eave or any position that can get wet, a weather-rated fitting is required — ask us and we will suggest one.
4000K, at 160 lm, with 150 lm at 5500K and 140 lm at 3000K. Brightness peaks in the middle of the range rather than at the cool end, and the total spread is only about 14%.
