The Lesen is a compact indoor wall light: a single 3 W built-in LED behind a clear polycarbonate lens, on an aluminium body that mounts to a surface plate and wires straight to 240 V mains. The head tilts through 90° and swivels through 350°, so it can be aimed at a picture, a stair, a headboard or straight up a wall — and re-aimed later without an electrician touching the wiring again.
This is the part that separates the Lesen from most wall lights at this size, and it is worth understanding before it is wired. There is no wall dimmer and no dimming module in the switchboard: a touch switch on the light itself does everything. One press turns it on and off. Two quick presses step the colour temperature between 3000K, 4000K and 5500K. Holding the switch down dims it and brings it back up.
Two consequences follow. The first is that the colour temperature is not a decision locked in on installation day — most tri-colour fittings are set once with a small selector behind the fitting and then left alone, whereas this one can be changed at any time by whoever is standing next to it. The second matters more at the quoting stage: this is not a Triac fitting. A leading- or trailing-edge dimmer on the wall will not control it, and specifying one is wasted money.
The Lesen produces 140 lm at 3000K, 160 lm at 4000K and 150 lm at 5500K. The peak is in the middle, not at the coolest setting, so the usual assumption that a cooler tri-colour setting is a brighter one does not hold here. In practice the three are close — about a 14% spread — so the choice is genuinely about the character of the light rather than about quantity. The optic is a 30° beam, which is a tight pool rather than a wash: it is chosen to put light on something, not to light a room.
The rating is IP20. That means indoor, dry locations only — it is not for a bathroom zone, not for a covered patio or alfresco, and not for any position that can catch driving rain or hose spray. If the position is anywhere weather can reach, this is the wrong fitting and an outdoor-rated wall light is what is needed instead. The body is aluminium, poly powder coated in black or white, with an IK06 impact rating and a CRI above 80.
The Lesen is a Class 1 fitting and requires an earth; it runs on 240 V AC and needs no driver or transformer. Installation is a licensed electrician's job under AS/NZS 3000, and the install sheet asks for the earth to be connected first. One instruction on that sheet is worth repeating because ignoring it is expensive: when aiming the head, stop turning as soon as it reaches its stop. Forcing it past that point keeps the body rotating, tangles the internal cable and shorts the fitting — and Havit records that as a voided warranty. Modifying the fitting voids it as well.
The head measures Ø35 mm. The rest of the dimensions are given as an unlabelled drawing on the data sheet rather than as a table, so rather than guess which figure is the projection from the wall, check that drawing against your space before ordering — projection is the measurement that decides whether a wall light works beside a door or a bedhead.
Black (HV3686T-BLK) and white (HV3686T-WHT) are the same fitting at the same price with identical output, so this is purely how it should read against the wall: white to disappear into plaster, black to sit deliberately against it. Both carry a three-year replacement warranty.
Lights For You has specified the Lesen for hallways, stairwells and bedside positions where a lamp would be in the way, and we are happy to talk through whether the 30° beam suits what you are trying to light.
No — and one will not work. The Lesen dims from a touch switch on the fitting itself. Hold the switch to dim it and to bring it back up. It is not a Triac fitting, so a leading- or trailing-edge dimmer on the wall will not control it.
No. Press the switch on the fitting twice quickly to step between 3000K, 4000K and 5500K. Unlike most tri-colour fittings, which are set once behind the fitting on installation day, this one can be changed at any time.
Neither. The LED is built into the fitting and is not replaceable, and it runs on 240 V mains, so there is no driver or transformer to buy and no lamp to source later.
No. It is rated IP20, which is indoor dry locations only. A bathroom zone, a covered patio or any position exposed to driving rain needs a weather-rated fitting instead — ask us and we will point you at one.
The 4000K setting, at 160 lm. It is 140 lm at 3000K and 150 lm at 5500K, so output peaks in the middle rather than at the coolest setting. The spread is small, around 14%, so pick the one you like the look of.
The data sheet gives the dimensions as a drawing rather than a labelled table, and the head itself is Ø35 mm. Check the drawing against your position before ordering, because projection from the wall is what decides whether a wall light clears a door or a bedhead.
