Lasian 40Cm Pendant Light

The Lasian PE40 is a 400 mm two-light pendant with a fluted resin diffuser in white with antique gold — two E27 globes to 25 W each, not supplied, on a 2,000 mm suspension.

Fluted resin — and why it is not just moulded plastic

The shade is moulded resin with vertical fluting, and the two things together produce the effect. Resin is translucent, so light passes through the shade as well as out of it — unlike an opaque fabric drum. The fluting then breaks that transmitted light into soft vertical bands of brighter and dimmer.

The result is a shade that glows with visible structure: warmer and softer than glass, more interesting than a plain diffuser, and with no visible globe and no glare from any angle. That is what our page meant by "a subtle decorative" something before it was cut off.

Two globes — 25 watts each, 50 in total

Our on-page table stated this correctly as 2 × 25 W, which is worth saying because our product record shows only 25 W and several fittings in this range state the total as though it were the per-globe figure.

400 by 385 mm — nearly square, and substantial

400 mm wide by 385 mm high, on a 100 mm canopy with 2,000 mm of adjustable drop. At almost one-to-one it reads as a solid sculptural form rather than a shade — and at this size, with two globes inside it, it is bright enough to be the main light over a dining table or an island.

The smaller 300 mm Lasian takes only one globe, so this is not simply a size step: it is roughly twice the light.

Part of a three-form range

Lasian comes as pendants, table lamps and floor lamps, all with the same fluted resin and antique gold. That makes it straightforward to carry one idea through a room at three heights — a pendant over the table, a table lamp on the sideboard, a floor lamp beside a chair.

400 mm wide by 385 mm high, canopy 100 mm with a 25 mm height, suspension 2,000 mm and adjustable, in iron and moulded resin, white with antique gold. Weight is not recorded — ask us. Two E27 globes to 25 W each — 50 W total, not supplied; dimming is globe dependent. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
