The Landis CTC50 is a 500 mm crystal close-to-ceiling light in chrome or gold — 36 W giving 3,648 lm, with switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K, TRIAC dimmable.
⚠ It weighs 8 kilograms and mounts to an 80 mm canopy. The figure was in one datasheet field and shown nowhere a customer or their electrician would read it. This is not a ceiling-rose fitting — it needs a fixing engineered for the load, and your electrician needs the number before the ceiling is opened.
It is a close-to-ceiling fitting, not a pendant. The description called it a “Crystal Pendant Light”; the title and product type say close to ceiling, and the 186 mm projection settles it. It sits against the ceiling — no drop, no suspension. Ask us if a hanging crystal fitting is what you want.
A crystal chandelier hangs into a room and is read from the side. A close-to-ceiling crystal is read almost entirely from below, and it does something different: the crystal throws refracted pattern down and outward onto the ceiling and walls, so the room carries the sparkle rather than the fitting.
In a room with a 2.4-metre ceiling — where a chandelier is either an obstruction or has to be hung so high it stops working — that is the practical way to have crystal at all.
High for a crystal fitting, where facets normally cost output. The 600 mm version independently gives 105 lm/W, so the two sizes confirm each other.
3,648 lm will light a living room or a large bedroom on its own. Most decorative crystal fittings need supporting downlights; this does not.
TRIAC dimmable on an ordinary wall dimmer, and at this output it is essential rather than optional — full brightness from a crystal fitting is a great deal of light and a great deal of glitter. Dimmed, it becomes an ambient centrepiece. With the 3000/4000/5000 K switching, one fitting covers a bright neutral daytime room and a warm dimmed evening one.
Chrome reflects the refraction back as white sparkle — cool, neutral, contemporary. Gold tints the reflected light, so the same crystal reads softer, richer and more traditional. On a fitting where most of what you see is reflection, that is not a trim choice.
Landis also comes at 600 mm, 46 W, 4,830 lm and 9.4 kg. This 500 mm suits a room up to roughly 5 by 5 metres; above that the larger is better proportioned. Both project 186 mm from an 80 mm canopy.
Class I — earth required, CRI above 80, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only, so not a bathroom.
500 mm across, projection 186 mm, canopy 80 mm, 8 kg, in iron and crystal, chrome or gold. Integrated 36 W LED giving 3,648 lm, included, with switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K, CRI >80, TRIAC dimmable. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
