Kurtz 37 LED Pendant Light

The Kurtz PE37 is a 37-light cascade pendant in chrome, dropping 2,500 mm from an 800 mm canopy span — 111 W total giving 5,580 lm at 4000 K.

A cascade, not a chandelier

Thirty-seven LEDs hang at staggered lengths from a 750 mm canopy, spilling down through 2.5 metres. The effect is a fall of light rather than a lit object — seen from below it is a scattering of points, and from a landing halfway up it is a column. That only works in a void: a stairwell, a double-height entry, an atrium. In a room with a ceiling it is simply not installable.

5,580 lumens, and where it goes

111 W at 50 lm/W. The efficiency is modest because the light is spread across 37 tiny sources over 2.5 metres rather than concentrated — that is the design, not a fault. In absolute terms 5,580 lm is a lot of light, and in a stairwell it does the whole job. But it arrives as many small points, not a wash, so plan for the character as well as the quantity.

4000 K, fixed, and not dimmable

Natural white rather than warm, which on chrome and clear acrylic gives a crisp, jewel-like sparkle instead of a golden glow. It is not dimmable, so this is a fitting you turn on and off — worth knowing on a feature light in an entry.

Where it works

• Stairwells, double-height entries and atria — the only places 2.5 metres fits.
• Voids seen from more than one level, where the cascade reads as a column.

Thirty-seven integrated LEDs at 3 W each — 111 W total — giving 5,580 lm at 4000 K, included, not dimmable. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
