Kestra 32Cm Pendant Light

The Kestra PE30 is a 320 mm textured iron cone pendant in black — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied, on a 2,000 mm suspension.

The texture is the design

The cone shape is common; the surface is not. Kestra’s iron is finely textured rather than smooth, so it takes light as a soft grain instead of a flat panel or a hard reflection. On a black pendant that matters — smooth black goes glossy and shows every fingerprint, textured black stays matte and reads as a solid form.

320 mm — the size you hang in threes

At 320 mm wide by 220 mm high, this is the island-run proportion. Three of these over a two-metre bench is a standard and successful arrangement; one of them alone over a dining table would look undersized. If you want a single pendant, the 430 mm PE40 is the one.

A cone puts light down

220 mm deep over a 320 mm mouth is a genuinely conical shade, which directs light downward and shields the globe from side view. Over a bench that is exactly right; as a room light it is not — almost nothing goes to the ceiling.

Dimming depends on the globe

Fit a dimmable E27 and pair it with a wall dimmer and it dims; fit a plain globe and it will not. Our record carries no value at all against dimmable, which is why we are saying it plainly: the answer is globe dependent.

Where it works

• Kitchen islands and benches, in a run of two or three.
• Over a breakfast bar or a reading nook.
• Hallways, where the downward throw suits a low ceiling.
• ⚠ Not as a room’s only light — a cone sends almost nothing upward.
