Product Description
xThe Kenra EX.P is a 750 mm exterior bollard in black sand, with a frosted resin diffuser on a slim polycarbonate body — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied — IP44.
⚠ Read the rating against what a bollard is for. This one needs a sheltered position.
The Kenra is IP44 — protection against splashing water, and our own specification table says “Outdoor (Covered Area)”. Both statements are correct, and together they are unusual for a bollard, because a bollard normally stands in the open: in a garden bed, along a path, beside a driveway — taking rain from every angle, sprinklers, and the hose.
IP44 does not cover that. So put the Kenra where it is genuinely protected:
- Along a covered walkway or under a wide eave line.
- On a verandah edge or a sheltered terrace.
- In a courtyard with overhead cover.
- Well clear of irrigation — sprinklers are the most common way an IP44 fitting fails outdoors.
For an open garden bed, a path edge or a driveway, ask us about the Gorem bollard — it is IP65 and rated for exactly that.
Slim, on a wide base — and that pairing is deliberate
750 mm tall, only 90 mm across, on a 160 mm base.
The body is narrower than the base by a wide margin, which is the copy's “wide base for secure installation” and it is the right way round for a bollard:
- A slim 90 mm column is visually quiet in a garden — it reads as a line of light rather than a post, which a chunkier bollard cannot.
- A 160 mm base gives it the footprint to stay upright and a proper fixing area, which is what a slim column needs.
At 1.5 kg the Kenra is notably lighter than the 2.7 kg Gorem bollard, which is worth knowing: in a position where it might be knocked or mowed around, the heavier fitting is the safer choice.
A resin diffuser, not glass — and that is an advantage outdoors
The Kenra's frosted diffuser is resin, not glass. In a garden that is the right material:
- It will not shatter. A bollard at knee height meets mowers, whipper-snippers, wheelbarrows and children. Glass in that position is a liability; resin takes a knock.
- It is light, which is part of why the whole fitting is 1.5 kg.
- Frosted resin diffuses completely, so the globe is invisible and there is no glare — the column glows as a whole surface.
⚠ The one thing to know about resin: it is a plastic, and over many years of direct Australian sun plastics can yellow or chalk where glass does not. In a sheltered position — which is where the IP44 rating puts it anyway — that is much less of an issue.
The globe — simple, because nothing shows
One E27 to 25 W, not supplied. Because the frosted resin hides it entirely, brightness and warmth are the only decisions.
- Warm 2700 K — a warm column reads as inviting; cool white makes a garden look institutional.
- Rated for ENCLOSED fittings — the diffuser is sealed, and heat with nowhere to go is what kills LED globes.
- Buying several? Buy the globes together, same brand — mismatched bollards along a walkway are obvious from the house.
And it dims, with the right globe. The datasheet says “No”, which cannot be right: this is a resin diffuser over an E27 lamp holder, with no driver and no electronics. Fit a dimmable LED and use a wall dimmer — on a run of walkway bollards, dimming lets them mark the route without lighting the whole area.
Class II — double insulated, no earth required, which is unusual on a bollard (the Gorem is Class I) and simplifies the wiring on a run of them. The globe is replaceable, where nearly every other outdoor fitting in this range has a sealed integrated LED that ends the fitting when it fails. In resin and polycarbonate, sand finish.
Where it works
- Covered walkways, verandah edges and sheltered courtyards.
- In runs, marking a route — slim and visually quiet.
- Positions where a glass diffuser would be a liability.
- ⚠ NOT an open garden bed, path edge or driveway — IP44. Use the Gorem at IP65.
- ⚠ Keep it clear of sprinklers.

Questions
Can it stand in an open garden bed?
No, and this is the thing to get right. It is IP44 — splash protection — and our own specification table says “Outdoor (Covered Area)”. How does it compare to the Gorem bollard?
The Kenra is slimmer (90 mm against 150), shorter (750 against 900), lighter (1.5 kg against 2.7) and Class II rather than Class I — but it is IP44 where the Gorem is IP65. The Gorem goes in the open; the Kenra needs shelter. In a position where it might be knocked or mowed around, the heavier Gorem is the safer choice.

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.
