A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
The Jora EX3 is a 110 mm 24 V exterior LED step light in aluminium — 3 W giving 110 lm at 3000 K, CRI above 95, IP54 — in black, green or rust.
⚠ It runs on 24 volts, so it needs a transformer. A 240 V-to-24 V low-voltage supply is required and no Telbix fitting in this range records one as supplied. The tail is only 300 mm, so the low-voltage cable has to reach the fitting inside the wall or step. Tell your electrician before they quote. We stock them: an outdoor 24 V transformer in 60 W and 200 W, both IP68, 240 V mains in and 24 V DC out. One transformer runs several fittings, so tell us how many you are installing and we will size it.
⚠ IP54 is splash-rated, and this is a step light. Steps take direct rain, run-off and hosing. IP54 is rated against splashing water — not jets, not run-off pooling against the fitting. It suits covered steps, sheltered stairs and interior stairwells. If your steps are fully exposed or get hosed down, tell us: the Flank in the same low-voltage family is IP65, and there are IP65 step lights we can point you at.
Most exterior LEDs sit at 80. The Jora is above 95, matching the Flank as the best colour rendering we have found in this range. On a step light that lands on stone, timber decking, concrete and brick, it means those surfaces keep their real colour at night rather than going grey — which on a material you chose for its colour is the whole point.
A step light should show you where the step is without dazzling you as you walk down. 110 lm is deliberately modest: enough to read the edge of a tread, not enough to leave you night-blind at the bottom of the stairs. Anything much brighter set at ankle height is a hazard rather than a help.
110 mm long, 100 mm high, projecting only 47 mm. A step light needs to be out of the way of feet, and 47 mm is shallow enough to sit in a stair wall without becoming an obstruction.
Green disappears into planting beside garden steps. Rust suits timber, rammed earth and corten. Black is the default and vanishes at night. All in a sand finish, which outdoors does not show water marks the way gloss does.
24 V in a position that gets wet is inherently safer than 240 V, and it lets a whole flight of steps run from one supply on light cable. That is why step and garden lighting is usually low voltage, and it is a genuine advantage rather than a complication — once the transformer is sorted.
110 mm long by 100 mm high, projection 47 mm, tail 300 mm, in aluminium and glass, sand finish. Integrated 3 W COB LED giving 110 lm at 3000 K, included, CRI >95, not dimmable. 24 V — a low-voltage transformer is required and is not confirmed as supplied. Class III — low voltage, IP54 — splash-rated; covered and sheltered positions. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
No — 24 volts, so a 240 V-to-24 V transformer is required and no Telbix fitting in this range records one as supplied — we stock 60 W and 200 W outdoor transformers, and will size one for you. The tail is only 300 mm, so the low-voltage cable has to reach the fitting inside the wall or step. Tell your electrician before they quote.
Not really. IP54 is splash-rated — not jets, and not run-off pooling against the fitting. It suits covered steps, sheltered stairs and stairwells. If your steps are exposed or get hosed down, tell us and we will point you at an IP65 alternative.
For a step light, yes, and more would be worse. It should show you the edge of a tread without dazzling you as you walk down — anything much brighter at ankle height leaves you night-blind at the bottom of the stairs.
It keeps stone, timber decking, concrete and brick looking like themselves at night rather than going grey. Most exterior LEDs sit at 80; on a material you chose for its colour, that difference is the whole point.
Only 47 mm — shallow enough to sit in a stair wall without becoming an obstruction, which is what a step light needs.
Green disappears into planting beside garden steps; rust suits timber, rammed earth and corten; black is the default and vanishes at night. All sand-finished, which does not show water marks the way gloss does.
Because 24 V at ground level in a wet position is inherently safer than 240 V, and a whole flight of steps can run from one supply on light cable. It is a genuine advantage once the transformer is sorted.
