Jonsel 20Cm Pendant Light

The Jonsel PE20 is a 200 mm pendant with a stretched fabric shade in black or white — one E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied, on a 2,000 mm suspension.

The elastic shade, and what makes it different

Soft fabric stretched over a frame rather than a stiff drum. Because it is thin and under tension it is translucent: the shade glows across its whole surface instead of only throwing light out of the top and bottom. The stretch also gives a seamless curve with no visible ribs, which is what makes it read as minimal rather than traditional.

The light is soft, even and diffused in every direction, with no glare and no visible globe.

The smallest of three — and the one built for runs

200 mm wide, shade 190 mm high, 0.55 kg. At this size a single Jonsel is a detail; it is at its best in a run of three or five over a bench or island. Over a dining table alone it will look undersized — the 300 mm or the largest size is the one for that.

Black or white — a choice about light, not just colour

On a translucent shade the colour changes what the fitting does:

• White — the shade glows and pushes light into the room from its whole surface. Ambient, softer, and it makes a small pendant read larger.
• Black — little light passes through, so the output goes down. A tighter pool, more contrast, and the fitting stays a dark shape against the ceiling.

In a run of five over an island, black gives you five defined pools on the bench; white gives you a continuous soft wash. Genuinely different rooms.

Where it works

• Runs of three or five over benches and islands.
• Bedsides and small spaces, singly.
• Ceilings where weight is a constraint — five is under 3 kg.
• ⚠ Alone over a dining table it will look undersized.
• ⚠ White glows; black throws its light down. Choose on effect.

One E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied; dimming is globe dependent. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
