The Jace is the narrowest lantern Havit makes in this galvanised-iron range — 399 mm tall on a footprint barely 126 mm across. That proportion is its whole reason for existing: on a narrow pier, a slim rendered column or the tight wall between two windows, the wider lanterns physically will not sit right, and this one does.
It arrives with a 4 W E27 LED filament globe producing 300 lumens of 2700K warm white over a 120° spread. That is an accent level — a warm marker that shows where the door is and gives a wall some depth after dark. It is not enough on its own to light a set of steps or a path, and it is worth being clear about that before it goes up: if the fitting has to do real work, the 700-lumen shapes in this range are the ones to look at.
What it does have is headroom. The E27 base is standard and replaceable, and Havit permits up to 60 W in this fitting, so the 4 W lamp supplied is a starting point rather than a limit. Havit does not list a matched 4000K or 5500K globe for the Jace, so a cooler light would mean a third-party lamp inside that 60 W ceiling.
Havit states the Jace is not suitable for installation in coastal areas or environments exposed to salt water. The clause has no distance attached to it and it is not negotiable: galvanised iron is zinc over steel, salt air removes the zinc, and what follows is rust through the powder coat. Near the sea, 316 stainless steel or solid brass is the material to specify.
Inland it needs cover but not much of it. IP44 is splash-rated, so an eave, porch or verandah roof over the fitting is enough; an exposed wall in driven rain is not. Impact rating is IK02, so keep it domestic.
It wires to 240 V mains. There is no driver in the fitting and none required — it is Triac dimmable at a normal wall dimmer, and Havit’s HV9625 300 W dial dimmer is the matched control across this range. It is Protection Class 1, so an earth must be present at the point, which is the check to make before ordering for a retrofit.
Two of Havit’s steps are warranty conditions rather than best practice: rubber pads on the glass tabs before the glass is fitted, and a silicone bead around the edge of the fitting after mounting, which is the seal that actually keeps water off the terminals. Wiring is parallel, CRI is above 80 and colour is held inside SDCM 5.
Lights For You keeps the Jace in stock with the rest of the Havit galvanised lanterns, and it is covered by a 3 year replacement warranty.
It gives 300 lumens from the 4 W globe supplied, which is an accent level — enough to mark a door and give the wall depth, not enough to light steps or a path on its own. The 700-lumen shapes in this range are the ones for that.
Yes. The E27 base is standard and Havit allows up to 60 W in this fitting, so there is a lot of headroom above the 4 W lamp supplied.
It is the narrowest in this range — 399 mm tall on a footprint around 126 mm across, which is why it suits slim piers and tight wall spaces.
No. Havit states it is not suitable for installation in coastal areas or environments exposed to salt water. Specify 316 stainless steel or solid brass for a coastal site.
Yes. IP44 covers splashing rather than sustained weather, so it needs a porch, eave or verandah roof above it.
No. It runs straight off 240 V mains and is Triac dimmable from a standard wall dimmer. Havit’s HV9625 300 W dial dimmer is the matched control.
Yes — it is Protection Class 1.
