Ingar Opal LED Wall Light

The Ingar EXRE-OP is a 230 mm exterior wall light with an opal matt lens in black — 6 W giving 300 lm, with switchable 2700 K / 3000 K / 4000 K, CRI above 90, IP65.

Opal or anti-glare — the same fitting, two different jobs

This is the only decision to make about the Ingar, and it is a real one:

• Opal matt (this one) — 300 lm. The lens diffuses evenly across its whole face, so the fitting itself glows and spreads light broadly. Use it where you want the light on the wall and the fitting visible — entries, facades, anywhere seen from a distance.
• Anti-glare — 170 lm. The optic shields the source and cuts the light off at an angle, so you cannot see it from normal viewing positions. Use it along a path or beside a door you walk past, where a glowing face would dazzle.

Same 6 W, same body, same colours — and the anti-glare gives 43% less light on purpose. Neither is brighter for the money; they answer different questions.

CRI above 90 — unusual outdoors

Most exterior LEDs sit at 80. Above 90 means brick, render and timber hold their real colour, and since the Ingar throws light across the wall immediately around it, that is precisely where a low-CRI fitting makes a facade look grey and cheap at night.

2700 K is the warm end, and warmer than most

2700 K, 3000 K or 4000 K, switchable — the whole range shifted warmer than the usual 3000/4000/5000, with no cool setting at all. At 2700 K it is close to an old filament lamp and reads domestic and welcoming on a house exterior.

A low, wide rectangle

230 mm long, 80 mm wide, only 44 mm deep. That shallowness is practical: it sits close to the wall and is not an obstruction in a walkway, and the horizontal proportion washes light sideways along a wall rather than up and down.

Where it works

• Entries and facades — where you want the fitting to glow.
• Exposed walls — IP65.
• Coastal positions — polycarbonate, no metal to corrode.
• ⚠ Beside a path you walk past, the anti-glare version is the better choice.
• ⚠ Not dimmable — the switch changes colour only.

Specifying it

230 mm long, 80 mm wide, 44 mm deep, in polycarbonate, sand finish, black with an opal matt lens. Integrated 6 W LED giving 300 lm, included, with switchable 2700 K / 3000 K / 4000 K, CRI >90, not dimmable. 240 V, Class II — double insulated, no earth required, IP65 — dust-tight, rated against water jets. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.
