The Ingar EXRE-AG is a 230 mm exterior wall light with an anti-glare optic in black — 6 W giving 170 lm, with switchable 2700 K / 3000 K / 4000 K, CRI above 90, IP65.
170 lm from 6 W is 28 lm/W, which looks poor next to the opal Ingar’s 300 lm from the same 6 W. It is not a fault. The anti-glare optic shields the source and cuts the light off at an angle, so you cannot see it from normal standing or walking positions. Roughly 43% of the light is deliberately not released — that is what buys the comfort.
Where this matters. Along a path, a walkway or beside a door you pass close to, a glowing fitting at eye or shoulder height dazzles — you see the light, not the ground. The anti-glare Ingar puts light on the surface without a visible bright source. On a facade seen from a distance, where you want the fitting itself to read, the opal version is the right one.
Most exterior LEDs sit at 80. Above 90 means brick, render, timber and stone hold their real colour. On an anti-glare fitting that is the point twice over: you do not see the source, so all you see is the surface — and the surface had better look right.
2700 K, 3000 K or 4000 K, switchable — the range shifted warmer than the usual 3000/4000/5000. At 2700 K it is close to an old filament lamp: domestic and welcoming rather than institutional, which suits a fitting lighting the ground people walk on.
IP65 and Class II. Dust-tight and rated against water jets, so unsheltered walls and hose-down are both fine. Double insulated, no earth required. Body is polycarbonate — no metal to corrode, which matters in salt air. Not dimmable; the switch changes colour, not level.
230 mm long, 80 mm wide, only 44 mm deep. In a walkway that shallowness matters as much as the anti-glare optic does — nothing to catch a shoulder on, and nothing to look into.

On purpose. The anti-glare optic shields the source and cuts the light off at an angle, so roughly 43% of the light is deliberately not released — that is what buys the comfort. Same body, same 6 W; the opal gives 300 lm and this gives 170.
Anti-glare along a path, a walkway or beside a door you pass close to, where a glowing fitting at shoulder height would dazzle. Opal on a facade seen from a distance, where you want the fitting itself to read.
More than usual, because you do not see the source — all you see is the surface, and the surface had better look right. Most exterior LEDs sit at 80.
Close to an old filament lamp. The range is shifted warmer than the usual 3000/4000/5000, with no cool setting at all — domestic rather than institutional, which suits a fitting lighting the ground people walk on.
Yes — IP65 is dust-tight and rated against water jets.
Barely — only 44 mm deep. In a walkway that shallowness matters as much as the anti-glare optic: nothing to catch a shoulder on, and nothing to look into.
Better than most — polycarbonate throughout, so there is no metal to corrode.
