Inez Floor Lamp Antique Gold

The Inez is a 1,530 mm floor lamp with a curved arm carrying a mouth-blown opal matt glass globe, on a marble base, in black with antique gold.

A glass globe, not a metal shade

This is what separates the Inez from the Marthos and Ortez. A mouth-blown opal matt sphere glows in every direction — it gives ambient light to the room as well as a pool below. Where a domed metal shade is pure task light, this does both jobs, which is the Scandinavian approach.

The curve puts light where you sit

The arm arcs over rather than standing straight, so the globe hangs above a chair or a table instead of beside it. Combined with an all-round glow, that makes it genuinely usable for reading without being harsh.

A foot switch on the cord

An inline foot switch on the 2.4 m cable — you turn it on without reaching up or bending down, which matters on a 1.5 m lamp beside a chair.

Marble, iron and glass

The marble base provides the counterweight for the curved arm; the iron gives the arm its span; the glass is the light. Three materials, each doing one job.

E27 to 25 W, not supplied

Behind opal matt glass a plain warm LED globe works perfectly — there is no filament to show off, so there is nothing to gain from a decorative globe here.
