Illume 10W Single LED Spotlight with Sensor

The Illume EX1S is a 10 W outdoor LED spotlight with a movement sensor, giving 800 lm at 5000 K, in black, silver or white.

The sensor is the whole product

This is the sensor version of the Illume — the same spotlight is made without one. A sensor changes what the light is for: instead of a switch you have to remember, you get light when someone approaches the side gate, the bins, or the back door at night. If you want a light you control manually, buy the non-sensor Illume instead.

270° of swivel

The head turns through 270°, so one mounting point covers a driveway, then a path, then a doorway as you adjust it. Mount it high and aim down — that gives the sensor the widest view and puts the light where feet are.

5000 K is the correct choice here

Cool white reads as alert rather than welcoming, which is what you want from a security light. With CRI >80 a camera covering the same area gets usable colour, which a cheap security floodlight will not give you.

Light and easy to mount

238 mm high, 121 mm across, 0.31 kg in aluminium and polycarbonate. It is light enough for any normal wall fixing, and Class II double insulated, so no earth is required.

• Side gates, back doors and bin areas.
• Driveways and carports, under some cover.
• Alongside a camera, where 5000 K helps the footage.
• Anywhere a manual switch would never get used.
