The 12 W Nella in the extension body sits in the middle of the tri-colour surface mounted range, and for most rooms it is the sensible choice: enough output for a living area or kitchen, in a housing that stands clear of the ceiling as a deliberate cylinder rather than a flat disc.
This listing covers both white and black finishes. Both use the same light engine and produce the same output, so the choice between them is purely about how the fitting reads against the ceiling.
Havit specifies this body with a semi frosted glass diffuser rather than the plastic used on the five-colour Nella range. Glass keeps its clarity instead of yellowing under sustained heat, and it can be wiped clean without scratching — which tells over years in a kitchen or bathroom where fittings get washed. The trade-off is published plainly: this body carries an IK07 impact rating where the plastic-diffused models are IK08, so it is not the fitting for a garage, a workshop, or a ceiling within reach of a swung object.
Three colour settings are built in and selected at installation: 995 lm at 3000K, 1,125 lm at 4000K and 1,050 lm at 5500K. The brightest is 4000K, not 5500K — output rises to the middle setting and falls back above it. If maximum light is the priority, 4000K is the setting to choose, and the cooler 5500K costs around 75 lm for the colour. Colour rendering is CRI >80.
There is no cutout. The fitting attaches to a mounting base against the ceiling surface, which makes it viable on concrete slabs, rendered ceilings and timber linings, and in renovations where the ceiling cavity is not accessible. Allow for the depth of the extension housing where headroom is tight.
It runs on 240 V AC, wired straight to mains with no driver in the circuit, and is Protection Class I, so an earth connection is required. Fittings are wired in parallel along a run rather than in series, so each sits across the supply independently and one failure does not darken the rest. Dimming is Triac, matched to Havit's HV9625 dimmer.
At IP54 it is protected against dust and splashing water from any direction, suiting bathroom ceilings and covered outdoor areas but not immersion or pressure jets. Lamp expectancy is over 30,000 hours and Havit's warranty is 3 years replacement. Lights For You keeps the standard and extension bodies side by side so the decision can be made on proportion, knowing the light itself is unchanged.
4000K, at 1,125 lm. Output rises from 995 lm at 3000K to the middle setting and then falls back to 1,050 lm at 5500K. Cooler does not mean brighter on this fitting, which catches people out when they are planning fitting spacing.
The depth of the housing. The extension body stands further clear of the ceiling; the LED, wattage, colour settings, lumen figures and IP rating are the same on both. It is a proportion decision rather than a performance one.
Glass holds its clarity instead of yellowing under heat, and it wipes clean without scratching — useful in a kitchen or bathroom. The cost is impact resistance: this body is rated IK07 against IK08 for the plastic-diffused Nella models.
No. It is surface mounted and fixes to a mounting base against the ceiling, so no hole is cut and no ceiling cavity access is needed.
No. It runs directly on 240 V AC mains. It is Protection Class I, so an earth connection is required and a licensed electrician must carry out the installation.
Yes — it is Triac dimmable and Havit lists the HV9625 Triac Dimmer as the matching control. Use a dimmer rated for LED loads and check its minimum load against the number of fittings on the circuit.
IP54 gives dust protection and resistance to splashing water from any direction, which suits bathroom ceilings and covered outdoor areas. It is not rated for immersion or direct high-pressure water, so confirm the zone with your electrician.
