A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
The black 7 W Nella, in both body lengths. It is the same Ø75 mm aluminium cylinder as the white version with a black powder coat, and the finish does more work here than it usually does: a black surface-mounted fitting on a white ceiling is a deliberate mark, not a disappearing one. If you want the fitting to read as part of the architecture, this is the one; if you want it to vanish, take the white.
This page sells the standard body at Ø75 × 69 mm and the extension body at Ø75 × 134 mm. The extension is not an optical change — the light engine, the 120° beam and the output are identical — it is a proportion change. At 69 mm the fitting reads as a disc; at 134 mm it reads as a barrel and casts a visible shadow line on the ceiling around it. It is also the version to use where a deep coffer or bulkhead would otherwise shade the beam, because it drops the source clear of the recess.
Three switchable settings: 525 lm at 3000K, 560 lm at 4000K, 540 lm at 5500K. The peak sits in the middle — 4000K is the brightest of the three on this model, so there is nothing to be gained by going cooler. The switch is inside the fitting and ships preset to 3000K, so set it before the body is twisted onto its plate. Colour rendering is CRI >80, which is the ordinary standard for a general-purpose downlight; for colour-critical work look at a CRI >90 fitting instead.
Both part numbers here run on 12 V DC from a constant-voltage LED driver, wired in parallel where more than one shares a run, and Havit's own installation sheet is blunt about the limit: do not connect the light fitting directly to 240 V. The fitting is Protection Class 3, so no earth is landed at the fitting — the reason this version is specified over water, in marine fit-outs and in vehicles. Havit lists the 12 V models as not dimmable.
The plate is Ø69 mm with two Ø4 mm holes and 28 mm deep; the body twists onto it and the fitting unplugs from its driver, so the plate can be fixed and wired before anything else goes up. It is IP54 against dust and splashing, IK07 for impact, with a semi-frosted glass lens and >30,000 hrs of rated life. Havit excludes aluminium fittings from sites within 5 km of salt water, which matters more for a black anodised-look finish than most people expect. Warranty is 3 years replacement, and Lights For You holds this range in matching 12 W and 18 W bodies so a mixed ceiling still looks like one family.
No. Both bodies use the same 7 W engine and give 525/560/540 lm with a 120° beam. The extension changes only the depth of the housing — Ø75 × 134 mm against Ø75 × 69 mm.
Two reasons. Proportion — at 134 mm the fitting reads as a barrel rather than a disc — and clearance, because it drops the light source clear of a deep bulkhead or coffer that would otherwise clip the beam.
Havit publishes no separate figure for the black version; both finishes share one data sheet, one 7 W rating and one >30,000 hr lamp expectancy. The driver, not the finish, is what needs ventilation.
12 V DC from a constant-voltage LED driver. Multiple fittings on one driver must be wired in parallel, and the fitting must never be taken directly off the house supply.
No — it is Protection Class 3. That is the practical reason to specify the extra-low-voltage version rather than the directly-wired one.
Not at the fitting. Havit specifies the 12 V models as non-dimmable; any dimming would have to be done by a driver designed for it.
IP54 covers dust and splashing water from any direction — a covered outdoor ceiling, a laundry, a bathroom outside the shower zone. It should not be installed within 5 km of salt water.
