This listing is the Prime recessed downlight in the two standard finishes — HV5511T-BLK matt black and HV5511T-WHT white — on a Ø70 mm cut-out. Both are the same 12 W aluminium fitting supplied complete with a Triac dimmable driver, flex and plug, and both sit below the metallic finishes of the same model in price while giving identical light.
Black and white are the finishes that disappear: white against a painted ceiling, black against a dark or raked one, and black is also the finish that reads as least visible when the light is off because the aperture and the trim are the same tone. If a whole house is being fitted out, this is the part number that does it, with the brass, copper, nickel and antique brass versions of the identical fitting reserved for the rooms where the trim is meant to be seen.
The Prime renders at CRI >90 — high enough that timber, paint and skin tones keep their depth — and is binned to SDCM <4, so a run of them across one ceiling reads as a single installation rather than as slightly different whites. Glare is held to UGR <22 behind a clear glass lens, the body is IK06, and lamp expectancy is >50,000 hrs.
A switch selects 3000K, 4000K or 5500K, and Havit measures 839 lm, 913 lm and 841 lm in that order. 4000K is the brightest by about 9%, and 3000K and 5500K are within two lumens of each other — so the warm-versus-cool decision on this fitting costs nothing in output. The beam is 60°, and the head is fixed with no tilt.
The Prime is IC-4 rated without an accessory, but the rating covers the fitting rather than the whole assembly: the driver must be mounted above any insulation covering the fixture so it can ventilate, and loose-fill insulation such as macerated paper or wool must not be used with this fixture. It runs on 240 V AC, is Protection Class 2 so no earth is required at the fitting, and dims over 10–100% on a Triac dimmer such as Havit's HV9625. IP54 applies to the front of the fitting only. Havit's warranty line for these part numbers reads "3 Years replacement warranty (items ordered after 01/01/22)". An older undated sheet attached to this listing shows a shorter term; the current dated model data sheet, the stored warranty value and Havit's own page all give the three-year figure, and Lights For You publishes that.
Havit’s installation instructions for this fitting state that aluminium and 304 stainless steel fittings must not be installed within 5 km of any salt water environment. That is a condition on where the fitting may go, and it sits beside the IP rating rather than inside it: a fitting can be rated for direct rain and still fall outside this rule, because the issue is salt carried in the air rather than water landing on the surface. If your site is inside that zone, talk to us before you specify it — Lights For You can point you at a fitting whose material Havit does not name here.
Ø70 mm, with a body of Ø88 mm across the face by 70 mm deep. Two of the other Prime models use 76 mm and 90 mm cut-outs, so check the part number against the hole rather than the range name.
Only in finish. Both are HV5511T on the same ordering row of the same data sheet, with identical output, beam, cut-out, ratings and warranty.
4000K, at 913 lm. 3000K gives 839 lm and 5500K gives 841 lm — two lumens apart, so choosing between warm and cool costs no light.
The fitting is IC-4 rated and may be. The driver may not — Havit requires that the driver must be mounted above any insulation covering the fixture so that it can ventilate, and that loose-fill insulation such as macerated paper or wool is not used with this fixture at all.
No. It is Protection Class 2 and is supplied with a flex and plug that lands on a plug base installed in the ceiling.
Havit publishes a dimming range of 10–100% using a Triac dimmer, with the HV9625 offered to suit its Triac dimmable drivers.
The three-year term. The shorter figure comes from an older undated sheet; the current dated model data sheet, this product’s stored warranty value and Havit’s own page for both part numbers all state three years replacement.
