A compact adjustable floodlight in poly powder coated black aluminium, 202mm across and drawing 24W. It mounts on a bracket that lets the head be aimed after installation, which is the defining feature of a floodlight as opposed to a fixed wall light: you point it at the thing that needs lighting rather than mounting it where the light happens to fall.
At 24W this is the middle fitting in the range, and in practice the one that suits most domestic jobs: a driveway, a back yard, a carport, a workshop door. It gives usable working light across an area without reaching the output where a floodlight starts spilling into neighbouring properties.
The fitting is tri-colour, with the colour temperature selected on the fitting at installation rather than fixed at manufacture: 3000K, 4000K or 5500K, rated at 1350lm, 1410lm and 1390lm respectively. Colour rendering is above 80 CRI.
For security and utility lighting the cooler settings usually make sense — 5500K reads as brighter for the same output and gives better contrast on movement. For a courtyard or a garden that is looked at rather than patrolled, 3000K keeps the space feeling like part of the house.
The floodlight runs on 240V AC mains and requires no driver. It is a Class 1 fitting and requires an earth connection, so installation is work for a licensed electrician.
It is rated IP65 for dust and jetted water, so it can go on a fully exposed wall. Aim it after it is mounted and powered — a floodlight aimed on the ground and then lifted into place is almost never pointing where you thought. Aim it downward rather than outward wherever possible; a floodlight angled toward a neighbour's window is the most common cause of complaint about exterior lighting.
The range runs in three sizes, and each size has a plain version and a version with a PIR sensor. This listing is the plain 24W, so it switches from the circuit rather than on movement — appropriate where the light should stay on for a period, or where the switching is handled by a timer or a smart relay elsewhere in the system.
If the light is meant to come on when someone approaches, the PIR version on its own listing is the one to look at. Lights For You can advise on which size suits the area you are lighting if you are unsure.
