Essil Fixed Down LED Wall Light

The Essil is a slim fixed-down wall light for the positions where you want a clean line of light on a wall and nothing else on show. The body is powder-coated aluminium, the aperture faces straight down, and there is no arm or cowl to cast a shadow of itself. It is the quiet option in the range.

Fixed down, and why that matters

Because the beam only goes down, the Essil is chosen for effect rather than coverage. It grazes the wall below it and reaches the ground, so it suits a path edge, a step, or the wall beside a door. It will not light a whole courtyard, and it is not meant to — for that you want an up/down or a floodlight. Decide on the effect first and the finish second.

Where it works

• Entry and porch walls, mounted above head height so the aperture is out of eyeline.
• Path and step-edge walls, spaced to overlap into a continuous run of light.
• Under eaves and in covered alfresco areas — IP54 covers rain and splashing.
• Rendered facades where a small, plain fitting should disappear by day.

Specifying it

The LED is built into the fitting, so there is no globe to buy and no socket to fit. Tri-colour switching is set once at installation across 3000 K, 4000 K and 5500 K. It runs on 240 V AC with the driver inside the fitting, is not dimmable, and CRI is above 80. IP54 means rain and splashing are within scope; it is not a wash-down or in-ground fitting. Finished in white.

Supplied and supported by Lights For You. If you are running several along one elevation, set them all to the same colour temperature before the fittings are closed up — mixed settings on one wall are obvious at night and awkward to correct later.

Coastal siting — Havit’s condition

Havit’s installation instructions for this fitting state that aluminium and 304 stainless steel fittings must not be installed within 5 km of any salt water environment. That is a condition on where the fitting may go, and it sits beside the IP rating rather than inside it: a fitting can be rated for direct rain and still fall outside this rule, because the issue is salt carried in the air rather than water landing on the surface. If your site is inside that zone, talk to us before you specify it — Lights For You can point you at a fitting whose material Havit does not name here.

Earthing and protection class

This listing sells more than one supply, and the earthing requirement is not the same on both. Check which part number you are wiring before you start.

• HV3645T-WHT-240V, HV3645T-BLK-240V run on 240 V AC mains and are Protection Class 1 — an earth is required at the fitting. Havit's installation sheet has the installer connect the earth conductor first, then live and neutral.
• HV3645T-WHT-12V, HV3645T-BLK-12V run on 12 V DC and are Protection Class 3 — no earth is required at the fitting. The isolation comes from the LED driver rather than from an earth conductor, and these part numbers must never be connected directly to 240 V.
