The Liptor is a plain aluminium oyster — a shallow round disc that sits flat against the ceiling with an opal polycarbonate lens and nothing else to it. At 10 W and 194 mm across it is the small one in the range, sized for a hallway, a landing, a laundry, a walk-in robe or a small bathroom where a full ceiling light would be too much.
It is tri-colour, and this is the detail worth reading carefully: 440 lm at 3000K, 480 lm at 4000K and 450 lm at 5500K. The brightest setting is the middle one, not the coolest. That is not a misprint and it is not unusual — several Havit tri-colour engines peak at 4000K — but it does mean you cannot pick the coolest setting expecting the most light. If output matters more than colour, set it to 4000K. Colour rendering is CRI >80 across all three.
The body is powder-coated aluminium rather than plastic, in black or white, with an IK06 impact rating. Because it is a metal-bodied fitting it is Protection Class 1 and requires an earth connection — genuinely worth flagging to whoever is installing it, since the polycarbonate oysters in adjacent ranges are Class 2 and need no earth. Fittings are wired in parallel across a run, so each sits across the supply independently and one failure does not take the rest of the circuit down.
IP54 covers dust ingress and splashing water from any direction. That is right for a bathroom ceiling outside the immediate shower zone, for a covered porch, or for an eave — it is not a rating for direct spray or for an exposed position taking driven rain. The lens is opal polycarbonate, which spreads the source across the whole face rather than letting you see individual diodes through it.
Surface mounted, so there is no cutout and no cavity depth to check — it fixes to a base plate against the ceiling and the fitting twists onto it. It runs on 240 V AC with no driver, at a beam angle of 120°. It is not dimmable, so it should not be put on a dimmer circuit; if a dimmable oyster is what the room needs, the polycarbonate Slim range covers that with Triac dimming.
Warranty is 3 years replacement. Lights For You carries the black and white finishes together and the larger 20 W Liptor alongside them, so a house can run the same fitting at two sizes without the ceilings looking mismatched.
Havit’s installation instructions for this fitting state that aluminium and 304 stainless steel fittings must not be installed within 5 km of any salt water environment. That is a condition on where the fitting may go, and it sits beside the IP rating rather than inside it: a fitting can be rated for direct rain and still fall outside this rule, because the issue is salt carried in the air rather than water landing on the surface. If your site is inside that zone, talk to us before you specify it — Lights For You can point you at a fitting whose material Havit does not name here.
4000K, at 480 lm. The 3000K setting gives 440 lm and 5500K gives 450 lm, so output peaks in the middle rather than at the coolest end. Choose 4000K if you want the most light out of the fitting.
Yes. The body is aluminium and Havit specifies it as Protection Class 1, so an earth is required at the fitting. This differs from the polycarbonate oysters in other ranges, which are Class 2 and need no earth.
No. Havit specifies this model as non-dimmable and it should not be wired to a dimmer. For a dimmable surface-mounted oyster, the Slim range is Triac dimmable.
For a bathroom ceiling outside the immediate shower zone, yes — IP54 covers dust and splashing water from any direction. It is not rated for direct spray, so check the zone requirements for your installation against AS/NZS 3000 before specifying it above a shower.
It measures 194 mm across and mounts to a 93 × 93 mm base plate fixed against the ceiling. There is no cutout — nothing is recessed, so ceiling cavity depth is not a consideration.
Size and output. This one is 10 W and 194 mm across; the larger model is 20 W and 275 mm across, giving roughly three times the light. Everything else — material, rating, colour settings, wiring — is the same.
Three years replacement, per Havit’s current dated data sheet for this model.
