This is the up-and-down Barline at 600mm, running on 240V mains, in black or white. Unlike the single-direction Barline, this version carries a light element at each end of the body, throwing one cone up the wall and one down it from a single fitting.
At 600mm the two cones are further apart and the fitting covers more wall, which suits a broad pier, a garage face or a wide entry better than the shorter version. On a narrow column the same fitting can look oversized, so the length is worth checking against the surface before ordering.
The fitting carries two 9W elements, so it draws 18W in total. The 180° distribution spreads each cone across the wall rather than projecting it outward, and colour rendering is above 80 CRI.
It is a tri-colour fitting, with 3000K, 4000K or 5500K selected on the fitting at installation rather than fixed at manufacture. If several are being installed along a wall or across a facade, set them all at the same time — the selection is made per fitting, so a single unit on the wrong setting is both obvious and annoying to correct once everything is mounted.
This version runs directly on 240V AC mains and requires no driver. It is Class 1, so an earth connection is required. That makes it the straightforward choice where a mains point already exists on the wall — no driver to house, no low-voltage cable to run, no capacity to calculate.
The same Barline is also made in a low-voltage version on its own listing, which suits an existing low-voltage garden system. If you are choosing between them, the deciding factor is what is already in the wall rather than anything about the light itself.
The body is aluminium with a Perspex diffuser, rated IP65 for dust and jetted water, so it handles a fully exposed wall. Rated lamp expectancy is >30,000 hrs and the LED is built in — nothing to buy alongside it, nothing to replace later.
Set out the full 600mm before the cable outlet is fixed, since the body has to cover its own outlet. Mount it plumb: on an up/down fitting any lean is doubled visually, because the two cones diverge from the error rather than hiding it. Havit states that aluminium and 304 stainless fittings must not be installed within 5km of a salt water environment. Installation is work for a licensed electrician, and the fitting is not dimmable.
18W in total — two 9W elements, one up and one down.
