HV3285T-BLK-12V - Kaval Black Surface Mounted LED Wall Light

The black Kaval is a compact surface-mounted exterior wall light with a built-in LED behind clear glass, built for marker duty rather than area lighting. Black powder coat is the finish that hides: against charcoal render, dark cladding or a shadow line the body is barely visible by day, so a run of them reads at night as a line of light points and by day as nothing much at all. It draws 1.5 W. It is 12 V — HV3285T-BLK-12V requires a 12 V DC LED driver and must never be connected directly to 240 V power.

The choice to make

This listing is the black finish. Your decisions are the driver, the layout and the colour temperature, which is selectable on the fitting: 100 lm at 3000K, 110 lm at 4000K and 105 lm at 5500K. Where the wall is dark and the intent is architectural, the cooler settings tend to look sharper; 3000K keeps the run feeling residential and warm along an alfresco.

Specifying it

A 12 V DC LED driver is required, and the fitting must sit no more than 25 m from it — a warranty limit, since voltage drop over a longer run dims the LED and shortens its life. Do not connect the fitting directly to 240 V power. It is Class 3 low voltage, so no earth is needed. The LED is built in: no globe is required and none can be fitted. The fitting is rated IP65, with IP67 also recorded, so it takes direct rain and coastal weather, and it is IK08 rated for impact behind a clear glass diffuser. Rated life is under 30,000 hours. It is Triac dimmable, which on a 12 V circuit requires a Triac-dimmable driver.
