A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
The Virsma rectangle is the wider member of the same family as the Virsma square — same opal polycarbonate diffuser over an aluminium body, at 6 W instead of 4 W. The longer face throws a broader, lower band of light, which suits a wide tread or a long low wall where a square fitting would read as a dot.
This listing sells both voltages:
HV3275T-WHT-240V and HV3275T-BLK-240V wire straight to mains. No driver.HV3275T-WHT-12V and HV3275T-BLK-12V are 12 V DC and require a
12 V DC LED driver. The datasheet warns in capitals against connecting the fitting directly
to 240 V.The bodies are identical between voltages, so check the order code rather than the fitting. For a single step off an existing point, 240 V is simpler; for a flight of six, 12 V from one driver is cheaper to wire and needs no earth at each fitting.
The 6 W LED is built in — no globe, no socket. Tri-colour switching covers 3000 K, 4000 K and 5500 K, giving 200 lm, 210 lm and 220 lm across the three settings — roughly 80% more than the square version. IP54, so rain and splashing are in scope but hosing is not. Aluminium, poly powder coated black or white, all four codes at one price.
The long face is the reason to choose this over the square, and it changes how you space a run. A rectangle throws a wider, flatter band, so fittings can sit further apart before the light between them reads as a gap — on a wide external tread one fitting will often cover the full width where a square needs two. On a low boundary wall, spacing them at roughly two to three times the lit width gives a continuous line rather than a row of separate glows. Set the first fitting, look at it after dark, and commit to centres from what you see rather than from a drawing.
At 6 W each, six fittings draw 36 W, so choose a 12 V DC driver comfortably above the total rather than exactly on it. Give it a position that suits its own IP rating — a cavity, meter box or weatherproof enclosure — and on a long run feed from near the middle rather than from one end, because low-voltage cable drops volts over distance and the far fitting dims first.
Supplied by Lights For You. If you are running the square and rectangular Virsma on the same property, keep each flight to one shape — mixed proportions on a single stair read as a substitution rather than a decision.
Havit’s installation instructions for this fitting state that aluminium and 304 stainless steel fittings must not be installed within 5 km of any salt water environment. That is a condition on where the fitting may go, and it sits beside the IP rating rather than inside it: a fitting can be rated for direct rain and still fall outside this rule, because the issue is salt carried in the air rather than water landing on the surface. If your site is inside that zone, talk to us before you specify it — Lights For You can point you at a fitting whose material Havit does not name here.
Two are 240 V AC, wiring straight to mains; two are 12 V DC and require a 12 V DC LED driver. Black or white in each voltage.
No. The datasheet warns against it in capitals — it destroys the fitting and is not covered.
Same body material and diffuser, 6 W instead of 4 W, and a longer face that spreads light across a wider tread — about 80% more output.
It covers rain and splashing, suitable for most external steps. For a step that gets hosed down, choose an IP65 fitting.
No. The 6 W LED is built in.
200 lm, 210 lm and 220 lm across the three colour-temperature settings.
Three years, as a replacement warranty.
