This is the largest Curva in natural solid brass — no applied finish, just the metal. It is the version for anyone who wants a fitting that changes, because untreated brass outdoors does not stay the colour it arrives. Over months it dulls from bright to honey, then over years to a deep brown. Some specifications are built around exactly that; others will be disappointed by it, so it is worth being deliberate rather than surprised.

Natural brass or antique brass

The same fitting is offered in antique brass, which arrives pre-darkened and holds close to that tone. The choice is not durability — both are solid brass and both will outlast a coated steel fitting — it is whether you want the finish settled on day one or developing on its own schedule. If a flight is going in over two stages months apart, antique brass will match; natural brass will not, because the first batch will already have moved.

Wiring it

It runs on 12 V DC constant voltage, so the driver must be a constant-voltage type rather than constant-current. Wiring is parallel, and the fitting is Protection Class 3, no earth required. At 7.5 W each, six draw 45 W — size the driver above that with headroom, feed a long run from near its middle so the far fitting does not dim from voltage drop, and site the driver somewhere that suits its own IP rating.

Dimming

The Curva is Triac dimmable, and at this output that earns its keep. Because the fitting runs at 12 V DC the dimming is done upstream, so the driver must be a Triac-dimmable 12 V DC constant-voltage unit and the wall dimmer a compatible leading-edge type. A dimmable fitting on an ordinary driver gives no dimming or flicker, and the fitting takes the blame.

Specifying it

The 7.5 W LED is built in — no globe and no socket. Tri-colour switching across 3000 K, 4000 K and 5500 K gives 600 lm, 650 lm and 625 lm, set once at installation; the middle setting is marginally the brightest, so choose on colour. IP65 covers rain and hose wash-down, IK06 covers the occasional knock, and the diffuser is frosted glass. CRI above 80.

Lights For You stocks the Curva in natural brass, antique brass, black and white. Buy a whole flight of natural brass in one order — fittings that start together patinate together, and ones added later will not match for a year or more.

Questions
Will the brass stay bright?

No. Untreated brass dulls to honey over months and to a deep brown over years outdoors. If you want the tone settled from day one, choose the antique brass version.

Natural brass or antique brass?

Both are solid brass and equally durable. Natural develops on its own schedule; antique arrives pre-darkened and holds close to that tone.

Can I add more fittings later?

Not and expect a match in natural brass — the first batch will already have moved. Buy the whole flight together, or choose antique brass if the work is staged.

What driver does it need?

A 12 V DC constant-voltage driver, Triac-dimmable if you want the dimming. Six fittings draw 45 W, so size it with headroom.

Does it need an earth?

No. Protection Class 3 — low voltage, no earth required. Wiring is parallel.

Which colour temperature is brightest?

4000 K at 650 lm, against 600 lm at 3000 K and 625 lm at 5500 K.

What is the warranty?

Three years, as a replacement warranty.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Our Rights

We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.

  • Restocking fee: 20% will apply unless otherwise stated, or unless another order of equal or greater value is placed in lieu of this re-stocking fee.
