Product Description
xThe HV3111T small square recessed step light in black is the most restrained fitting in this range: a 1 W built-in LED, flush in the wall, giving around 30–35 lm. That is deliberately little light. Its job is to tell you where a tread or a hallway edge is at 2 am without waking anyone, and in a black finish set into a dark wall you barely see the fitting at all by day. It is supplied with clips for plasterboard installation, and it is 12 V only.
The decision that matters: this is a 12 V fitting
HV3111T-BLK-12V requires a 12 V DC LED driver and must never be connected directly to 240 V — that destroys the fitting on contact and is not covered. Because each one draws only 1 W, a long run of them sits comfortably on a modest driver, which is exactly why this fitting suits a staircase with a light on every riser. Keep each fitting within 25 m of its driver; outside that the warranty does not apply.
Where it works
- Internal stairs, one per riser — at 1 W each, that is a realistic circuit.
- Hallways and bedroom corridors as night lighting that will not dazzle.
- Under-bench and joinery returns where a flush marker is wanted and nothing more.
- Sheltered entries and undercrofts — IP54 for covered positions only.
Specifying it
Tri-colour selectable at install across 3000K, 4000K and 5500K — commit to one per flight so the stair does not shift colour halfway up. Recessed without a canister and supplied with plasterboard clips, so set the cut-outs out against studs and noggings before cutting; there is no adjustment afterwards. IP54 covers splashing in a covered position, not sustained rain. Not dimmable — at 1 W it is already at marker level. The LED is built in: no globe is needed, none can be fitted, and nothing needs re-lamping. Powder-coated black aluminium, class III so no earth is required at the fitting. Licensed electrician only.

Questions
Does it need a driver?
Yes. This is a 12 V DC fitting and requires a 12 V DC LED driver. It must never be connected directly to 240 V, which would destroy it and void the warranty.
Is 30 lm too dim to be useful?
Not for what it is for. A step marker only has to make the edge of a tread visible in the dark. If you want the stair lit rather than marked, choose a 3 W or 5 W fitting instead.
How many can I run on one driver?
At 1 W each, a great many — which is why this fitting suits one per riser. Your electrician will still size the driver on the real total with headroom rather than at its limit.
Can I use it outside?
Only under cover. IP54 handles splashing water, so a porch soffit is fine; an exposed garden wall needs IP65 or IP67.
Will it fit a plasterboard wall?
Yes — clips for plasterboard are supplied and no canister is required. Confirm the cavity is clear at each marked position before cutting.
Is there a globe to replace?
No. The 1 W LED is integrated, so there is no globe to buy and nothing to change later.

Warranties, Return & Refund Policy

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Our Rights
We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.
Cancellations
