HV3008T-BLK-12V | HV3008T-BLK-240V - Bata Black 3w LED Brick Light

A brick light sits at roughly shin height, which is close to where a walking eye lands. The HV3008T answers that with a grill face — blades across the aperture that push light down and across the surface while keeping the LED panel out of a direct line of sight. In powder-coated black the grill recedes into the shadow of the recess by day, and at night the wall gets a soft band rather than a bright rectangle.

Grill or plain, on a 3 W body

The grill matters more at this size than it does higher up the range. A 3 W fitting is usually specified for a path edge or a step — positions that are walked directly towards — so the face is often seen head-on from a few metres. Viewed obliquely, along a driveway, the plain-faced HV3007T is equally good. Everything else is identical: same body, same 105 × 41 mm aperture, same output, same price. You are choosing glare control, not brightness.

Aperture and depth

105 × 41 mm with the canister, 103 × 35 mm without, 58 mm deep — Havit's installation sheet and product page agree exactly. Note that the 6 W Bata takes 159 × 58 mm, so the sizes cannot be swapped once a wall is cut. It ships with spring clips for gyprock as well as taking a canister in masonry.

Output, and what it will not do

240, 255 and 270 lumens at 3000 K, 4000 K and 5500 K, selected at install from a slide switch on the panel. Behind a grill that reads softer again, which is the intent — this is wayfinding light. For an area to be usefully lit, step up to the 6 W HV3006T or the 10 W HV3004T, both grilled equivalents. It does not dim on either supply voltage; the 10 W HV3004T is Triac dimmable on 240 V, so the range is genuinely inconsistent on this point and it is worth checking before settling on a wattage.

The electrical detail

240 V is Protection Class 1 and requires an earth. 12 V DC is Class 3 and needs none, but must be fed from a 12 V DC LED driver; Havit's instructions state in capitals that a 12 V fitting must never be wired straight to mains. Keep a 12 V fitting within 25 m of its driver, supply inside ±5% of rated voltage, or the warranty is void. Wiring is parallel, the tail 150 mm.

Build

IP54 and IK06, frosted tempered glass, 120° beam, CRI above 80, and a built-in 3 W LED on a replaceable panel — no globe, no socket. Havit asks that powder-coated 316 stainless fittings, including this black finish, stay 5 km from salt water.

Both voltages are held by Lights For You against a three-year replacement warranty, alongside the plain-faced HV3007T-BLK for elevations where the grill is not wanted.
