A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
The HV3006T is the grill-faced 6 W Bata: the same recessed body as the plain HV3005T, with blades across the aperture that let light out downward and across while keeping the LED panel out of a direct line of sight. In powder-coated black the grill almost disappears into the shadow of the recess by day, and at night the wall gets a soft band of light instead of a bright rectangle.
Brick lights sit at shin or knee height, which is close to where a walking eye falls. Anywhere the fitting will be seen head-on — a narrow path, a courtyard, a wall beside seating — the grill is the version that keeps the scene comfortable. Along a driveway edge viewed obliquely, the plain HV3005T is just as good. Output, IP rating, cut-out and price are identical; you are buying glare control.
Havit publishes these for the 6 W Bata: 159 × 58 mm with the canister, 155 × 50 mm without, and 60 mm of installation depth. The fitting also ships with spring clips for gyprock, so a canister in masonry and clips in a lined soffit are both supported out of the box. Cut one hole, test-fit, then run the rest — a hole cut short in face brick cannot be walked back.
The HV3006T data sheet and the HV3005-6-7-8 installation instructions both record Dimmable: No, on 240 V and 12 V alike. The 10 W HV3004T — the grilled model one size up — is Triac dimmable on its 240 V code. It is an easy assumption to carry across the range and it is wrong; check the dimmer before you settle on the wattage.
Two order codes, two different electrical arrangements. 240 V is Protection Class 1 with an earth required. 12 V DC is Class 3 with no earth, and must be fed from a 12 V DC LED driver; Havit's instructions state in capitals that a 12 V fitting must never be wired straight to mains. On the low-voltage code the fitting cannot be more than 25 m from its driver, with supply inside ±5% of rated voltage, or the warranty is void. Wiring is parallel and the tail is 150 mm.
IP54 and IK06 behind frosted tempered glass, a 120° beam, CRI above 80, and a built-in 6 W LED on a replaceable panel — there is no globe and no socket. A slide switch on the panel sets 3000 K, 4000 K or 5500 K at install, giving 480, 510 and 540 lumens; it ships warm. Havit asks that powder-coated 316 stainless fittings, which includes this black finish, be kept 5 km from salt water.
Lights For You holds the black grilled Bata in both voltages. If the plain face suits the elevation better, it is the HV3005T-BLK at the same output.
It shields the LED panel from a direct view, turning a bright rectangle into a soft band. Lumens, beam angle, IP rating, cut-out and price all match the plain-faced HV3005T.
No, on either supply voltage — both Havit documents for this model say so. The grilled 10 W HV3004T is Triac dimmable on 240 V, so do not assume the behaviour carries across the range.
159 × 58 mm with a canister, 155 × 50 mm without, and 60 mm of depth. Test-fit one aperture first.
Yes — spring clips for gyprock are supplied as well as the masonry canister option.
The 240 V one — it is Protection Class 1. The 12 V DC code is Class 3 and needs no earth at the fitting, but does need a 12 V DC LED driver.
25 m maximum on 12 V, with supply within ±5% of rated voltage. Havit states the warranty is void past that.
No. The 6 W LED is built in on a replaceable panel and there is no socket.
