This is the black-finished Flame — the same miniature recessed deck light with a Ø28mm cutout, half a watt and 25lm per fitting, on a 316 stainless steel body finished black rather than left bright.

The finish is the whole decision here. A bright stainless bezel set into decking reads as a row of small metal discs by day, visible whether or not the lights are on. A black bezel disappears into dark hardwood, charcoal composite board and bluestone paving, so by day the surface is uninterrupted and at night only the light itself is seen. On pale timber or sandstone the opposite is true and the stainless version is the better match.

How this listing is sold

Two options sit on this page at very different prices, so check which one you are adding to the cart. HV2826CCT-BLK is the six-light kit, which is how a run is normally bought. HV28261CCT-BLK is a single fitting, for extending a run already installed or replacing one that has been damaged.

These fittings are designed to work as a series rather than individually. One Flame in a deck is a curiosity; six spaced along an edge is the effect people are actually after.

Colour temperature and control

The Flame is adjustable across the CCT range from 2700K to 6500K, and both the colour and the dimming are handled by remote or app rather than by a wall switch. On a deck that is genuinely useful — the fittings are set into a surface nobody wants to lift again — but it does mean the installation depends on a controller and a paired device, which is worth deciding on before the boards go down.

Colour rendering is above 80 CRI, the beam is 120°, and rated lamp expectancy is >30,000 hrs. Each fitting is rated IP67, so it withstands the temporary immersion a flush deck fitting actually meets when water pools on the boards.

Power, cutout and installation

Each Flame runs on 12V DC and is Class 3, so no earth is required at the fitting. A 12V driver is required on the circuit and is not supplied. At half a watt per fitting the load is small, but the driver still needs sizing for the full run plus anything added later.

The cutout is Ø28mm. Set the whole run out before cutting anything and test the hole size in an offcut first — a recessed fitting cannot be repositioned once the surface is cut. Havit states that aluminium and 304 stainless fittings must not be installed within 5km of any salt water environment. Installation is work for a licensed electrician.
