A recessed inground uplight in 316 stainless steel, rated IP67 and IK10. It sets into the ground with the lens flush, so the fitting itself disappears and only the beam is seen — the standard way to uplight a tree trunk, a wall, a column or a facade from below.
Two ratings define what this fitting can survive. IP67 covers temporary immersion, which is what an inground light actually experiences when the garden floods or a sprinkler pools around it. IK10 is the highest impact rating in Havit's range, which matters because an inground light gets walked on, driven over and struck by mowers.
316 is the grade specified for sustained contact with moisture, soil chemistry, fertiliser and pool water. A lesser stainless pits and stains in exactly those conditions, and an inground fitting is the hardest thing in a garden to replace once it is set in concrete.
⚠ Havit notes that 316 fittings still need regular cleaning to prevent tea staining — the brown speckling that appears on stainless in coastal air. It is cosmetic rather than structural, and much easier to prevent than to remove.
The fitting draws 18W and is tri-colour, with the colour temperature selected at installation rather than fixed at manufacture: 3000K, 4000K or 5500K, rated at 1200lm, 1290lm and 1350lm respectively. Colour rendering is above 80 CRI.
The beam is 60°. On an uplight that is a moderately wide cone — good for washing a broad trunk or a section of wall, less suited to throwing a tight column up a tall facade. Rated lamp expectancy is >30,000 hrs.
This version is supplied for a 240V circuit, with the fitting itself running at low voltage from an external power supply. That external supply is required and is not part of the fitting, so confirm it is specified before the canister goes into the ground. The fitting is Class 3, so no earth is required at the fitting itself.
It takes a Ø241mm cutout with its canister. Getting the canister set correctly is the whole installation: it needs drainage beneath it so water does not stand around the fitting, and the top has to finish flush with the final ground level — not the level before the paving, turf or mulch goes down. An inground light sitting proud of a finished lawn is a trip hazard and a mower casualty. Installation is work for a licensed electrician.
It carries an IK10 impact rating, the highest in the range. Confirm the load rating for your application with your electrician before driving over it.
