Product Description
xThe Split is a 3 W recessed inground uplighter in 316 stainless steel, and this listing sells the mains part, HV1841T-240V. It sits flush in a canister below ground level behind a clear tempered-glass face with an anti-glare honeycomb louvre, and it is trafficable to 1000 kg, so it can take a car in a driveway or a path.
240 V AC, and this one must be earthed
This part takes a 240 V AC mains supply directly. There is no transformer and no driver in it at all. ⛔ It is Protection Class I and it requires an earth: Havit's installation step for this exact part number reads use wire with earth, connect the earth first, then live and neutral. ⚠ Havit's data sheet covers this model and its low-voltage siblings in one undivided block and prints no earth required across all of them — the per-model table in the installation sheet and the wiring step both say otherwise for this part number, and this page follows those. Wiring is parallel, and installation is work for a qualified electrician working to AS/NZS 3000 with the circuit isolated first.
Tri-colour, switched on the underside — before it goes in the ground
The built-in LED is tri-colour: 3000K, 4000K and 5500K, giving 220 lm, 230 lm and 240 lm respectively, through a 60° beam at CRI >80. ⚠ The selector is a switch on the bottom of the fitting, inside a sealed brass cover, so on a recessed light you choose the colour temperature before you drop it into the canister — changing it afterwards means lifting the fitting out and re-sealing it. There is no globe and no socket, so nothing is ever replaced, and lamp expectancy is >30,000hrs. The fitting is not dimmable, which both of Havit's documents state.
IP67, IK10, and the conditions that carry the warranty
It is IP67 and IK10 behind a clear glass diffuser. ⛔ Adequate drainage under the canister is a warranty condition rather than a recommendation — Havit asks for 100–150 mm of crushed rock and a slight fall so water runs away from the fitting, and states that if no drainage is allowed the warranty is void. The anti-syphon plug and the male and female connector supplied on the cable must both remain on it. All o-rings and seals must be seated, every joint soldered and sealed watertight, and silicone applied around the edge of the fitting once it is in. ⚠ 316 stainless still needs regular cleaning to stop tea staining forming, and tea staining is not covered by the warranty. Every figure on this page for HV1841T-240V was taken by Lights For You from the HV1841 data sheet (AUG24), the HV1841T / HV1841RGBW installation instructions and Havit's own listing for this model, which states a 3 Years Replacement Warranty.
Questions
Does this one need a driver or a transformer?
No. HV1841T-240V takes a 240 V AC mains supply directly — there is no driver and no transformer anywhere in the installation. That is the whole difference between this part number and the low-voltage part Havit sells alongside it.
Does it have to be earthed?
Yes. This part is Protection Class I and requires an earth. Havit's installation step for this part number is explicit: use wire with an earth and connect the earth first, then live and neutral. ⚠ The data sheet's shared specification block prints no earth required because it covers the low-voltage models in the same undivided row — the per-model table and the wiring step are the ones that apply here.
How do I set the colour temperature?
A switch on the bottom of the fitting, inside a sealed brass cover. Choose 3000K, 4000K or 5500K, re-seat the cover tightly, and do it before the fitting goes into the canister — afterwards the switch is under the light and under the ground.
Can I drive over it?
Yes. Havit rates the Split at 1000 kg trafficable and it is IK10, the top of the impact scale. The canister still has to be set level with the finished surface; Havit makes that a warranty condition in its own right.
What drainage does it need?
100–150 mm of crushed rock beneath the canister and a slight fall on the surrounding ground so water runs away. Havit states that if no drainage is allowed the warranty is void, and standing water is the most common way a recessed fitting fails.
Can it be dimmed?
No. Both of Havit's documents record this model as not dimmable, so plan a switched circuit. If you want variable colour and output, the RGBW Split is the version to look at — it is controlled by an RGBW controller, not by a dimmer.
Does the 316 stainless need looking after?
Yes. Havit requires regular cleaning maintenance on all 316 stainless fittings to avoid tea staining, and states that tea staining is not covered by the warranty. Rinsing and wiping the face when you clean the path is usually enough.

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.
