A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
The Split is a 3 W recessed inground uplighter in 316 stainless steel, and this listing sells the 12 V DC part, HV1841T. It sits flush in a canister below ground level with a clear tempered-glass face and an anti-glare honeycomb louvre, and it is trafficable to 1000 kg, so it can be driven over in a path or a driveway.
This part runs on 12 V DC constant voltage and an external supply is required: you must run it from a suitable 12 V DC constant-voltage LED driver. It is Protection Class III, so no earth is required at the fitting. ⛔ It must not be connected directly to 240 V. ⛔ It is also polarity sensitive — Havit's installation sheet says that if it is connected the wrong way round the fitting will fail and the warranty is void. Supply at the fitting has to stay within ±5% of the rated voltage; outside that allowance the warranty is void as well. Wiring is parallel, and the whole job is one for a qualified electrician working to AS/NZS 3000.
The built-in LED is tri-colour: 3000K, 4000K and 5500K, giving 220 lm, 230 lm and 240 lm respectively, through a 60° beam at CRI >80. ⚠ The selector is a switch on the bottom of the fitting, inside a sealed brass cover. On a recessed fitting that means choose the colour temperature before you drop it into the canister — changing it later means lifting the fitting back out and re-sealing it. There is no globe and no socket here, so nothing is ever replaced; lamp expectancy is >30,000hrs. The fitting is not dimmable, which both of Havit's documents state.
It is IP67 and IK10 behind a clear glass diffuser. ⛔ Adequate drainage under the canister is a warranty condition, not a recommendation — Havit asks for 100–150 mm of crushed rock and a slight fall so water runs away, and says plainly that if no drainage is allowed the warranty is void. The anti-syphon plug and the male and female connector supplied on the cable must both stay on it. All o-rings and seals must be seated, every joint soldered and sealed watertight, and silicone applied around the edge of the fitting. ⚠ 316 stainless still needs regular cleaning to stop tea staining forming, and tea staining is not covered by the warranty. Lights For You has taken every figure on this page for HV1841T from the HV1841 data sheet (AUG24), the HV1841T / HV1841RGBW installation instructions and Havit's own page for this model, which states a 3 Years Replacement Warranty.
No. This part is 12 V DC and must not be connected directly to 240 V. It needs a suitable 12 V DC constant-voltage LED driver sized for the run. Havit sells a separate part number for installations that take no driver, and it is a different listing to this one.
Yes. It is polarity sensitive. Havit's installation sheet states that if the fitting is connected incorrectly it will fail and the warranty will be void, so match positive to positive and neutral to neutral before you solder anything.
A switch on the bottom of the fitting, inside a sealed brass cover. Set it to 3000K, 4000K or 5500K and re-seat the cover tightly. ⚠ Do this before the fitting goes into the canister — afterwards the switch is under the light and under the ground.
Yes. Havit rates the Split at 1000 kg trafficable and it is IK10, the top of the impact scale. It still needs the canister set level with the finished surface, which is itself a warranty condition.
100–150 mm of crushed rock under the canister and a slight fall on the surrounding ground so water runs away from the fitting. Havit is explicit that if no drainage is allowed the warranty is void — it is the single most common way an inground light fails.
No. Both of Havit's documents record this model as not dimmable, so plan a switched circuit rather than a dimmed one. The RGBW version of the Split is the one with variable output, and it is controlled by an RGBW controller rather than a dimmer.
Yes. Havit requires regular cleaning maintenance on all 316 stainless fittings to stop tea staining forming, and states that tea staining is not covered by the warranty. A rinse and a wipe when you clean the path is usually enough.
