HV1835T-240V - Klip 316 Stainless Steel 30w LED Inground Light - 240V AC

The Klip is a 30 W recessed inground uplighter in 316 stainless steel, and this listing sells the 240 V AC part, HV1835T-240V. It drops into a canister set below ground level, finishes flush with the surface behind a clear tempered-glass face, and is trafficable to 1000 kg — so it can sit in a path, a driveway or a paved courtyard and be driven over.

A mains fitting, and it must be earthed

This part takes a 240 V AC mains supply directly, so there is nothing to size between the switchboard and the light and no low-voltage run to plan. ⛔ It is Protection Class 1 and requires an earth. Havit's installation sheet splits the protection-class row by supply and gives this model as 1 (Requires Earth), its step 4 says to use wire with earth and to connect the earth first before live and neutral, and the data sheet's own specification block splits the same row the same way — ✅ both of Havit's documents for this fitting agree. Fittings go in parallel, and the installation is work for a qualified electrician working to AS/NZS 3000 with the circuit isolated first.

Tri-colour, switched on the underside — set it before it goes in the ground

The built-in LED is tri-colour: 3000K, 4000K and 5500K, giving 2400 lm, 2550 lm and 2700 lm respectively, through a wide 120° beam at CRI >80. ⚠ The selector is a switch on the bottom of the fitting, inside a sealed brass cover, which on a recessed light means choose the colour temperature before it goes into the canister — changing it later means lifting the fitting back out and re-sealing the cover. There is no globe and no socket here, so nothing is ever replaced; lamp expectancy is >30,000hrs. The fitting is not dimmable, which both of Havit's documents for this part number state.

The hole, the drainage, and the conditions that carry the warranty

Havit's drawing gives the cutout with the canister as Ø238 mm. ⛔ Drainage beneath the canister is a warranty condition, not a suggestion: Havit asks for a 100 mm space under the canister and 100–150 mm of crushed rock below that, with a slight fall on the finished ground so water runs away, and says plainly that where no drainage is allowed the warranty is void. The canister must finish level with the ground. The anti-syphon plug and the male and female connector supplied on the 300 mm tail must both stay on the cable for the warranty to be valid; every o-ring and seal has to be seated, joins soldered and covered watertight, and silicone run around the edge of the fitting once it is in. It is IP67 and IK10. ⚠ 316 stainless still needs regular cleaning to stop tea staining forming, and tea staining is not covered by the warranty — Havit's HV9971 kit is made for that job.
